Well it has almost been a week since the career changing incident and things are progressing along. I have quickly fallen back in the routine of job hunting that I perfected back in the fall of 2005. I have all the bookmarks already done and know where to look and have a much better understanding of what Halifax has to offer.

The good news is I have so many more skills to offer and it has expanded the search range for positions and companies. Halifax has also grown in the last two years when it comes to jobs in the communications field and online media.

I have sent out a lot of “feeler” emails with resumes attached and have applied for a few sweet jobs that I know I could totally do and enjoy.

Week 1 has been good.

The sun is shining today and even the small things like a nice shower can make the day positive and relaxing.

The most important thing that I learned the last time was you can’t look for work 24/7 even though you feel you should be.

That is what makes it stressful and unhealthy. You have to find balance, you have to find normal things that take your mind of the hunt.

Walking Bosco, reading a good book and even watching the occasional movie. If you work hard in spurts, then you have to sit back and let things happen.

I am currently using five seasons of Two and a Half men as my relaxation tool. Spend the first part of the day doing all the job stuff and once it is done I move on to my personal daily stuff.

It is all about balance and having a positive look on the whole situation. Save the stress and worry for those days when things suck and you are not sure what to do anymore.

On the good days like today, there is no point sweating it. Looking for work is hard work but you still have to enjoy yourself.
