Portland at Toronto 12:30pm ET
I love Sunday afternoon basketball. It is one of my favourite things when it comes to sports. Have a nice big brunch and spend the early part of the afternoon watching the Raps. It does not always end pretty but I always start out with very high hopes and a great mood.
Today the Raps are hosting the hottest team going. The Portland Trail Blazers have one like 67 games in a row or something (okay 17 of 18 or close to that). They have lost once since the snow has fallen and that included a win over the Raps a few weeks ago.
Toronto controlled most of the game and the Brandon Roy (the guy Toronto didn’t pick) took over and grabbed the game away.
Today could be a very different story. The Raps are at home and Bosh is as hot as the tea I am drinking right now. He is coming off a 40 point night and seems to be playing at the top of his game.
It will be an exciting game to watch, a game that should be on national TV I think instead of the usual Cavs, Heat and Mavs games that are always on.
Two young teams that like to get up and down the floor and are very exciting to watch.
I am once again hoping for a better game from Andrea. He has been taking it hard in the press and the Raps are really trying to work him in practice and toughen him up. I don’t know why I keep defending him, I guess I just keep seeing the potential in him.
Today is the first of a long seven-game road trip for the Blazers so the early start could really hurt them. They have not been out East for that long and maybe the body clocks have to shifted. A great reason why Toronto has to jump on them early.
Call me crazy but I think the Raps will take this one 104-100.
