Do you have a popular blog and want to make some money off of it? I bet you do. Do you know how?
I have looked into it for you and here are my findings.
There are many ways that you can profit from blogging besides the obvious posting of advertising.
I find it is a fine line between ads that work and ads that just make a site look ugly.
If you are not really in the market to cover your blog or site with ads, here is another way to go.
You can sign up for a handful of sites that help you build your traffic and at the same time put some money in your wallet.
They take care of finding the advertisers for you and you wait to be matched up with one.
Then you write about a product or review a site that helps lead traffic to that site. For this you are rewarded with a small payout that can grow based on how popular your blog is in terms of google and alexa rankings.
I can tell you first hand that they are not scams and they do work. I will also tell you that you will still have to keep your day job but it is always nice to have a little extra cash in your pocket for having a blog.
You are writing and posting anyways so as long as you don’t have issues with it not always being on a relative topic, you can make your blog work for you.
Here are the four sites that I find work the best.
Smorty - Once you sign up you just have to check often for new postings. At the start they are around $6 but they can go much higher. I have seen $30 ones. They pay weekly once ads are approved. The only downside is if you don’t check at the right time of day, the high paying ones go fast.
Blogsvertise - This one will email you when they have a posting for you. You will have five days to complete it and they are pretty quick at approving it. The downside is it is usually a month before you see the money.
Reviewme - A very good site that seems to be used more by smaller sites. They also email you offers to accept and from time to time they will have postings that you can select to do. They are fast at reviewing and accepting and the payout is at the start of every month I believe. They don’t accept free wordpress blogs anymore.
Sponsored Reviews - I have just started to check this site out. It has a lot more flexibility and you are actually able to make bids. Once you sign up and add a blog it will tell you what range you should ask for. Then you can go and look at all the postings and make offers. I think in the beginning it is ideal not to try and bid to high because there will always be someone that goes low. They give you a percentage of what the price is once approved.
Advertising is everywhere on the web so everyone might as well try to take advantage of it a little bit.
Do you have any other sites that you find do the same thing?

Better Alexa ranking also helps if you monetize your website using Adbrite. The lower/better your number the more you can make.
