- “To extend any one victory into six or seven or eight, the kind of streak that only the top teams ever find themselves on, takes the kind of consistent effort from a large group of players that the Raptors have yet to experience this year. But there is a feeling, just a suspicion born of increasing confidence, that something special could be in the offing for a team coming off its most significant victory of the season.” (Toronto Star)
- ” Even with his sweaty players walking past, Raptors coach Sam Mitchell suggested after practice yesterday that he can smell a winning streak coming on. Now that second-year forward Andrea Bargnani has proved he still is capable of putting together a big game in the NBA — as evidenced by his 20-point, seven-assist, seven-rebound night against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday — Mitchell believes his team is that much closer to going on a big run, and perhaps solidifying home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. ” (Toronto Sun)
- “The Raptors are making an obvious effort as an organization to gain Jose Calderon a reserve roster spot at this year’s all-star game Feb.17. You can hear it on radio and watch it on TV. But it’s an uphill climb that may end badly. It depends on whether you rely on the late-night highlights on American TV, where the Raptors’ uber-efficient point guard is all but invisible, or if you rely on the numbers, like assist-to-turnover ratio, to be found in newspapers and online … the sizzle or the steak?” (Toronto Star)
- “The Bucks are struggling, currently last in the Central Division (16-26, not including last night’s game). They have lost three in a row heading into yesterday’s game against the Indiana Pacers and are 5 -19 on the road. Part of their problems is a lack of rebounding.” (Toronto Sun)

Charles Barkley today said he thinks that Calderon, amongst a couple other players, should be on the all star starting line up, not D. Wade!
