Washington 108, Toronto 104 OT

Man talk about a tough loss to swallow if you are the Raptors or one of the many Raptors fans. The night was full of highs and lows and in the end there were not enough miracles in the cupboard for the Dinos.

When I first sat down and tuned into TSN it was like I had arrived for a blind date early and found out the girl was attractive. No Caron Butler?? Talk about dodging a bullet. Not only are the Wizards missing Gilbert Arenas, now they would be without Caron Butler for a few games? Wow, easy win. Uh nope.

Just like many times in the past when the star goes down, someone stepped up and tonight it was Andre Blatche. Where the hell did this guy come from? Someone said something about Syracuse but as Katie was saying during the game, Blatche is the noise the cat makes when it throws up.

Regardless, the kid had a game and it killed the Raps. He did his job filling in for Butler and when you toss in Jamison having a 20-20 game it was going to be a long night.

Or was it? Just when you think the Raptors are dead, they pull the old run at the end to make it close. This time they not only made it close but they tied it on a buzzer beater three from AP. Overtime, there was still hope to pull the game out of the fire.

But the Raps still were not able to rebound and that in the end cost them the game.

A hard fought loss that came so close to being a thrilling win. Now they have to turn around and do it again tomorrow against the same team.

The Good

  • Bosh is the first half was unstoppable. He still did damage in the second and hit a huge three to make it interesting but it was the third quarter lull that hurt Toronto. He needs more touches, hell give him the ball everytime. Joey Graham should never be the end result of an offense.
  • Kris Humphries must of read ESPN today because he was bringing it. The guy was the only Rap taking it to the hole all night. They need more of that, he should play that way every night.
  • Even though they lost they put up a fight to come back and almost steal it. That kind of thing can be good experience to know they can do it. My question is why can’t they play like that the whole game??

The Bad

  • Other than some nice boards and a dunk Bargnani was invisible. I don’t remember seeing him in the second half. Can we have more Blatche and less Bargs?
  • The third quarter was horrible. How many times do they come out of half time looking like they don’t know what they are doing. They had the Wiz right where they wanted them and gave the game back.
  • AP had a bad night. Okay he made up for it with the bomb to tie it but he shot bad, really bad. He hits a few more of those shots the game could of gone another way.
  • I thought the refs were kind of weak tonight. Some missed calls but hey that is every night in the NBA.
  • Leo basically saying Calderon was as good as Steve Nash. For a month maybe but come on.

I am not going to go into this game that much since it there is another game tomorrow.

This game was just another example that Toronto needs help on the boards. They just can’t get a rebound when it matters. I think BC has to cook something up and I have full faith he will.

I hope for a better outcome tomorrow since it will be the last game I see on TV for a week.

What do the other Dino-ballers think?
