Are you a fan of Youtube and online social communities? Odds are you are part of a site like Facebook or Myspace already and of course you have seen a video clip online before.

Now there is a new site to be a part of and it is for the athlete no matter what level.

The website is Sportsgist and it is a sports video website where you can share your clips and be part of a group of athletes like yourself.

The videos range from high school sports live, college recruiting and college recruiting video.

When I went to the site for the first time I was instantly grabbed by the video that played right off the bat.

It made me want to dig around and see what else was there.

Some of the many benefits of joining a site like this are as follows:

  • Fans and parents can get the inside look of sports your kids may join.
  • Athletes can upload their videos and get noticed.
  • You can upload all of your stats and accomplishments.
  • You can watch video clips about college recruitment.
  • You can even start your own blog through the site.

Growing up I used to read the athletes of the week in SI and there were always a handful of great kids that did some remarkable things. But you had to wonder how many kids did not get listed?

Now with this site, everyone can get listed and show off what they got. In the age of American Idol you never know how someone will get their big break.

The site lists featured athletes and clips right on the front page.

It is one-stop surfing for any young athlete and I think it is a great idea.
