Good Sunday morning everyone. How is the day so far.

It is a quiet one so far and very cold in Halifax. First I want to apologize for all of the navigation issues of where new posts are and where they are not. Yep this moving thing is a big process and I am trying to do it as seamlessly as possible.

Yesterday was one of those classic Saturdays that was full of good food and a lot of relaxing.

The morning started off with some french toast and bacon. Great way to start anyday I think but it sure hit the spot.

There was not much of a plan for the day other than getting some groceries. To shake it up we went downtown to Pete’s. We knew it would be a little more expensive but the store is an experience as my mother knows.

We picked up some ingredients for Saturday and Sunday night’s dinner and got out of there before the large amount of people got to us.

One more stop before the car. Starbucks!

It has become a little bit of a routine (addiction) that every Saturday we go for a hot chocolate/latte. Pretty funny considering before 2008 I may of have a few drinks at Starbucks my whole life.

Hot drinks in hand we headed back to the car and then home to get out of the rain and relax for the day.

I worked on the new blog and Katie spent some much needed time organizing her itunes.

For dinner the idea was to make some home made pizzas. We had the stuff for it so it was time to get busy.

Recipe

  • Two pizza shells
  • pizza sauce
  • pepperoni
  • one green onion
  • mushrooms
  • mozzarella cheese
  • goat cheese
  • various herbs

There is no special way to do it, just put it all on the shell (sauce first) and fire it in the oven. I believe it only took eight minutes or so at 450 F.

The pizza I cooked turned out great and the goat cheese really made it tasty. We polished off one pizza and wrapped the other to cook over the next few days.

Another quick and simple idea and the best part is you can put whatever you want on it.

After digesting and watching a little bit of Ottawa/Toronto it was time for a movie.

We watched Gone Baby Gone and I have heard such great things about the flick that I was actually expecting a letdown.

No chance. This movie was very well done and I have to keep saying to myself “Ben Affleck? really?”. The acting, writing and story really worked together and I had no idea it would end how it did.

I could watch Morgan Freeman clean the house. He is such a great actor.

The two best things Ben did when putting that movie together was land Freeman and Harris and deciding not to put himself in it.

I would highly recommend it.

So other than another day of relaxing and staying warm I will be working on the new blog and getting all the bells and whistles going.

It will be nice to have some Raptors ball back tomorrow.

Patriots 33, Giants 21

Have a great Sunday.
