Super pancake Tuesday

In the United States today it is Super Tuesday. A day where it could become more clear on who will be slugging it out to be the leader of the free world.

What is more important to me today is the fact that it is Pancake Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday if you want to get technical.

This great day refers to the day after Shrove Monday and before Ash Wednesday (the liturgical season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday). In Ireland, England and amongst Anglicans, Lutherans and possibly other Protestant denominations in Canada including Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, this day is also known as Pancake Day or Pancake Tuesday, because it is customary to eat pancakes on this day.

And pancakes I hope to eat…..and eat a lot of them. I am all for celebrating days that involve a food theme.

Now if only the Americans could combine Super Tuesday with the pancake theme, that would get more people out to vote and actually care.
