It is that time of year again! No not a killer case of the winter blahs, it is time for another exciting season of…….Survivor.

Since I am a big fan and will be watching, I thought I would cook up a post that brings you all up to speed on what is happening, what could happen and everything I can think of that is Survivor related including the babes and their bikinis.

The concept

The 16th (really!) season promises more back-stabbing, bitching, and bikinis as one tribe of former Survivor standouts goes head to head with a tribe of newbies who idolize the players they’ll be competing against. This certainly adds a new twist to the game. Will being on the show already help or hinder a contestant? How will the fans mix with the faves? I think it will be an interesting dynamic that could make this one of the best seasons yet.

Who are on the favourites tribe?

The favorites tribe features players going all the way back to season seven, including two from the recent Survivor: China (Amanda Kimmel and gravedigger James Clement).

Others include Yau-Man Chan from Survivor: Fiji; Parvati Shallow, Jonathan Penner, and Ozzy Lusth from Cook Islands; Eliza Orlins and Ami Cusack from Survivor: Panama; and Jon “Jonny Fairplay” Dalton from Pearl Islands.

You might recall he faked his own grandmother’s death to move ahead in the game. Classy guy for sure.

The fans

The Fan tribe includes a tattooed firefighter (Joel Anderson), a beauty pageant coach (Chet Welch), a golf course vendor (Kathleen Sleckman), and an ice cream scooper (Erik Reichenbach) from Michigan. Talk about some fancy titles for what most likely are some pretty lame jobs.

Just looking over the profiles at cbs.com, they sure went with some good looking ladies. This may be the most Maxim’d out Survivor to date.

The babes

Yeah, yeah I know that is what you really want to know. Survivor always has some girls that keep the show at least watchable even on those down weeks.

You have the return of Amanda Kimmel (blurry bum), Parvati Shallow and Eliza Orlins and then you have all of new stars ready to do what they need to do to show the most skin and still be legal.

My pick

I am still working on this one. As you know Katie and I always have a dinner bet on who’s pick goes further. We pretty much always make the merge and to be honest one of us always makes the final show.

I won’t be finalizing my selection until watching Week 1. Those are the rules in our house!
