T.J. Ford

San Antonio at Toronto 7pm ET

The thing I am most happy about tonight’s game against the defending World champs is the fact that I get to see it on television. I always get a little bummed out when the game is only on RaptorsTV and last night that was the case.

What is in store for the Raps tonight against a team that is without their starting PG? A whole lot of Tim Duncan bankers and painfully boring play.

As successful as the Spurs have been, they have done it without any style or flash and as a fan that adds up to boring. As true basketball mechanics go, the Spurs are the cream of the crop but that doesn’t mean we have to like watching it.

I tried as hard as I could to enjoy yesterday’s game against the Celtics but it just wasn’t that interesting. No KG and the three goofs they had commentating kept talking about the New York Knicks of all teams.

I would like to watch a local Spurs broadcast someday. They must have to bring a list full of other things to talk about because they can’t possibly discuss the team on the floor, the audience would doze off on the couch.

But as boring as the Spurs are they win. I would take a less flashy Raptors team for more wins and of course the Championship bling.

Tonight there is no Tony Parker so that most likely means so unexpected Eva sighting at the ACC. TP is the only thing on the Spurs team that moves in the fast lane so this will be a walk it up, half court game unless the Raps can dictate some pace. That should be the goal tonight for Toronto, run, run and run some more.

Now that T.J. has the passing game back it does not matter what unit is on the floor for Toronto. The offense will be fine regardless. It is on the other end of the floor that needs the work.

Sure they clogged up the T-Wolves last night for 82 points but come on, that is the worst team in the league. We are talking the World Champs tonight.

Toronto has to frustrate Duncan as much as they can and try to keep Manu from going off. By the way the over/under on Manu flops is set at around five.

The Spurs don’t really have an answer for Bosh unless they slide Duncan over and they certainly don’t have an answer for Ford coming off the bench.

Damon can shoot but he is too old to keep Ford in front of him.

Bargnani as always can be the wild card. If he plays both outside and inside the Spurs don’t have a big who can guard him.

I like the Raps chances to win won at the ACC but I don’t see any pizza tonight.

Vegas has the Raps listed as 1 1/2-point home dogs, I would take that bet if you are into that kind of thing.

Raptors win 91-86 behind a solid team game once again.
