On his blog for NBA.com, Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas think calls that Calderon be named to the All-Star game is “killing [him].”
“Some people wanted Jose Calderon. Jose Calderon? Who? Come on man, this is All-Star, people,” Arenas wrote on his blog.
“I understand Calderon has the best assist-turnover ratio in the league, but you know what’s funny? All back-up point guards have the best assist-turnover ratios. Screw it, Kevin Ollie should be an All-Star then!”
“I’ve been loving the way he’s been playing for the last two years. When he first came into the league he was a little timid and scared to shoot the ball, but he’s taking over that team. But All-Star? He’s about 20 years away from being an All-Star.”
“Calderon is managing a team. If he was up for Rookie All-Star, Sophomore All-Star .. BOOM .. he’d get in. He might even be MVP! But for the big show? The big game? No.”
Arenas has missed all but eight games this year with a knee injury and is averaging 22.4 points-per-game and 5.9 assists-per-game.

Well Gilbert maybe Jose really needs to do it longer than a few months but you can’t knock the guy and put him in the same class as Kevin Ollie. Come on.
Calderon has been a starter for most of the time those stats have been compiled.
By the way your team, the Wizards, are better without you. They actually play defense.
Sour grapes Gilbert.

Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell left the team Monday and flew home to Atlanta following the death of his father-in-law.
Assistant coach Mike Evans was slated to run the team Monday night for Toronto’s game against the visiting San Antonio Spurs, while Canadian Jay Triano will take over head coaching duties on Wednesday against the visiting New Jersey Nets.
A Raptors spokesman said Mitchell would not rejoin the team until after this weekend’s all-star break.
Mitchell, 44, had never missed a game during his three-and-a-half seasons in Toronto. The reigning NBA coach of the year is 134-161 with Toronto, and 27-22 this season.
Toronto faces Orlando at home on Feb. 20 in the team’s first game after the all-star festivities in New Orleans.

Fuck off Gilbert.
What would Gil know about a point guard that helps the other players on his team?
Enjoy having your salary cut next year.
[...] Jose Calderon was the lone bright spot tonight. He was off the charts and maybe he was reading Gilbert Arenas’ blog?? [...]
