Orlando at Toronto 7pm ET

Raptors ball is back baby and I have to say it is about time. It has felt like much longer than a week since the Raps played. Who did they beat? Oh yeah, the Nets.

Well get ready for a tough game tonight boys. The new poster child for the NBA is coming to town and he is bringing with him a pretty good team.

The new self-proclaimed Superman, Dwight Howard, brings his under the radar Orlando Magic to the ACC for a game that could have some meaning in the East.

Oh and don’t worry about the Magic being tired and beat up for the second game of a back-to-back. Oh no, no. They put a hurt on the red-hot Detroit Pistons last night and I don’t think Howard even broke a sweat.

He will be ready and waiting to spread his wide shoulders and destroy the Raps on the inside.

My only question is this. Who will be the kryptonite to stop this man-child?

Looking at the Raptors team I would have to say it will be a group effort but never underestimate the power of the Rasho-saurus.

All games are important at this time of the season but with Orlando a few games in front of Toronto this game is valuable if the Raps hope to catch the Magic.

As it stands the Raptors are fifth in the East and would start the playoffs on the road in Cleveland. I don’t like that sounds of that.

The remainder of games this month has the Raps looking like they could make a run but we all know they never do. I can see the Raps playing a great game tonight and winning and then losing one of the upcoming games to the Knicks. That is how the season has gone.

Another constant this season is T.J. Ford being injured. At this time his status is unclear with a strained abdominal muscle.

No worries, Jose to the rescue again. This is becoming standard for the Raptors and if they ever get the best point guard combo back and healthy they could actually make some noise.

Tonight the Raptors can’t focus all their attention on Howard in the middle. What they really need to key in on is Lewis and Turkey-loo from the outside.

The last time these clubs suited up the Raps did a decent job on D-12 but they let Lewis go crazy from the floor.

I hope the Raptors start off hot and don’t show any signs of a long layoff. This Magic team is very good and just like last night in Detroit, they can beat anyone, especially on the road.

Bosh, Bargs and Calderon need to have solid games and ideally one more Rap has to score 10 or more.

I am hoping for some kind of deal soon to beef up the front court but at the same time it will be sad to see someone go.

Can’t wait for some real game action, I will be on the couch, enjoy the game.

Magic are going to pull this one out sadly, 103-95.
