For those who check the blog out each day for a slice of real life, I am sorry for the lack of goods lately. For someone who does not have a 9 to 5 life at the office, I seem to fill the day and not have much time for sharing.

I am going to try and the very least to have a check in on the weekends so you know what is up and more importantly my Mum has a reason to turn on the computer other than freecell.

If you are here for all the other stuff, please keep scrolling and looking around unless you also want to take a look behind the curtain and see what makes the show tick.

So what have I been up to?

  • Still sending out resumes and hitting the job sites and maintaining contacts for any possible jobs coming up. I have got this down to a pretty solid routine and it takes up about two hours of my day. Some days are busier than others but overall it balances out over a week.
  • Now that Cuzoogle is rolling at full speed ahead and has been live on the new host for almost a month I decided to do the same to The Chocolate Dog Blog. I have moved it onto it’s own host as well meaning I can finally throw advertising up on that and cash in on the crazy world of dogs. I feel in the long run it may be the blog that is most lucrative. We will see.
  • Like I said Cuzoogle is doing really well considering I had to start most things over when I moved host and took that little wordpress word out on the domain. I have had a few big days where I got links on SI.com’s Extra Mustard and thanks to some good contacts out there I have been getting a steady stream of traffic. February will see the blog go over the 30,000 views mark and it will probably make around 20 bucks. Yes that does not seem like much but it is all from doing little work. That is from Google adsense and all of those little double-lined red links you see everywhere. It will only grow so I am pretty happy.
  • I did manage to get my first paid freelance writing job this past week as well. One of the people I have been keeping in contact with works at Chalk, a content provider for sports fantasy websites. So my first job was to write a 200 word blurb on each MLB team heading into the 2008 season. It went well and the guy at Chalk was very pleased with my work and I got paid pretty well. I like freelance work! If you want to see what I did you can go here. I have been told the links are not arranged that well yet but where you see a team’s name, I was the one who wrote those. Apparently there is a lot of work coming up so I hope to get offered a few more.
  • We watched Dan in Real Life last night and it was a pretty good flick Steve Carell is strong in whatever role he plays and he has the dramatic, funny thing down as good as anyone. I kept thinking man that is one giant family and one giant house but I guess they do exist.
  • We had another car issue yesterday as well. The battery was not firing again and it forced me to finally sign up for CAA. We are going to get the battery tested and get to the bottom of this annoying problem.
  • On Thursday I lost the seasonal Survivor bet already! My pick only lasted a few weeks and Katie will be enjoying a free dinner once the season is over. Damn you Mikey B!!

That is all I can think of for now that is noteworthy from the week. I am sure there is more but I probably don’t consider it important to share. As I said there will still be posts in the week about dinners and what I did in the day but it may not be as much as normal. There will be a post on the weekend like this one though to catch you up and keep you updated on life on Kline.

Have a good weekend everyone.
