Orlando 102, Toronto 87

Well it was not a surprise to me. I kind of knew the Raps would lose but they did put up more of a fight than I imagined. But in the end the shots were not dropping when they needed to and Orlando hit theirs. This loss would not be a big deal normally. I mean they were without Bosh and on the road against the Magic but like I said in the preview, when you lose a string of games you should not lose it means you need to steal some that you are not supposed to win.

There were some positives from the loss. The Raptors rebounded and did a great job of keep the Magic off the glass. I saw guys in red jerseys box out and put a body on guys when the ball came off the rim. Carlos Delfono in particular had a great game rebounding T.J. Ford had a decent game scoring although his out of control spell there was hard to watch. But I am not going to knock the guy when he is scoring and keeping Toronto close. Okay I lied, he needed to be a little more of a point guard and not try to bring the team back all by himself. I came up with a little song about Ford as we were watching the game.

Okay I am sure it could use some revision by Timbaland but you get the idea. For every bad pass he makes, he will turn around and do something great. Dem the breaks with T.J.

So all in all it was not a big shocker in Florida but a loss still hurts and annoys the Raptors nation. I hope to god the bleeding stops against the Heat because losing to the shitty D-Wade-ettes will make me want to throw in the towel and dream of days when the Raps were supposed to be crap and there was no pressure at all.

Other thoughts

  • Will Jamario Moon ever try to take a charge. That block from behind swipe thing only works once a game.
  • Patrick Ewing picking his ear was pure class.
  • Rod Black still sucks.
  • That Giant Mattress ad was great.
  • The ball boy for a day……could that kid look any more unhappy? I know he was only getting to pass the ball to Rasho and D-Mart but come on.
  • Stan Van has some bad suits.
  • I think Chuck and Leo have man crushes on Dwight Howard.
  • I am now convinced that Kapono does not want to take threes so he can keep his #1 ranking in percentage. How hard is it to get open to take a three??????

I know he went a little crazy and tried to be a one man show but ………..
