Toronto 114, Seattle 106
Well it started out bad and there were feelings of “here we go again” at half time but the boys came out in the second half and got the job done. It was not pretty and the Raps still did a lot of things wrong but a win is a win. I would have the say the most important story of the game was just how careless Seattle was with the ball. They had more turnovers than Oliver Miller at the local bakery. Now it is time to go west young dinos and hopefully not come home 0-5.
Just like most games of late at the ACC, the road team came out on fire. The Sonics shot over 60% in the first quarter and that had a lot to do with the weak defense and effort Toronto was putting up.
I said it earlier today, Wilcox would kill the Raps and he did. Almost 30 points and over 10 boards not to mention the hurt on he put on the ACC rims.
He is one player I would love to see on the Raps and is the exact type of player that could turn them into big boys in the East.
Rasho, Parker and Delfino carried the club in scoring while Calderon continued to show how valuable he is on the floor.
Bargs had a tough shooting day and I will talk about T.J. in a moment.
How about Jason Kapono finally gunning some threes and hitting a few. I thought Kapono had a pretty good game (for him) and it would of been nice to see him get more shots.
Moon still takes too many jumpers but he is playing some solid D and rebounding so I will leave him alone.
Now for Ford. I am a big fan but every game it is like watching a bird try to fly with one wing. The guy just can’t get it going. He had a few moments of classic T.J. but then would show off some of his new classic moves that Raps fans are not used to seeing. Endless bad passes and missed layups.
The halftime interview was pretty topical and interesting. Those are lame questions to ask personally. He was basically being baited into saying he doesn’t like Calderon. Thanks for digging up some quotes Elliot. I bet Sam Cassell probably wished Kenny Smith would suck ass so he could have the job.
So the Raps get a win they should of got. No big deal. The big issue now is the brutal road trip ahead. The good news is they get out of Toronto and the snow. The bad news is this….
L.A. Lakers - Kobe may score 97
Golden State - Warriors may score 164
Denver - Camby could get 45 rebounds
Sacramento - The one game the Raps may steal but won’t
Utah - By the time they get to this game the Jazz will roll them
Rough sledding ahead but that is why it was key to bank the wins in the easy month of February. Now is when they will really pay for the brutal play of late.
Other notes
- Did anyone else see the giant scratches on AP’s neck?
- Chuck calling out the Sonics on their turnovers was brutal. “This is the NBA, how can that happen?” Uh Swirsk you could ask the same about the Raptors rebounding.
- Can you tell I am getting tired of Chuck?
- I wonder if the love fest for T.J. will lift his spirits? A good ol’ pat on the ass from Calderon may not be the best thing.
- You know when you add a new person to the circle and it means you can tell all the old stories again. That is what Chuck and Leo do when they get on CBC. Yep Primoz wild and crazy personality made the airwaves again.
- I am gonna go watch the Spurs beat up the Suns no and call it an afternoon.

Another ugly win for the DIno’s. Raps played terrible in the first quarter leading to a Seattle to offensive splurge, thank god they have no defense and we were able to come back. Those scratches on Parker were pretty big, must have been Durants long wing span
Did you hear Chuck talking about his crush Anne Murray? That was hilarious, that must have been an akward moment for the Chuckster when Leo shot him down. I’m going to go watch the Suns slip by the Spurs now.

TJ heard it from the crowd for the second straight game. Not loud, but the rumblings are there. Same with Moon.
While the prospects of losing during this road trip are a big factor, it might be good for the team to get outta dodge for a week.

Getting a little frustrated with Moon. We definitely need a SF solution, since Delfino and Moon don’t seem to be developing into the full package. Kapono will never be ‘bad,” even as a backup, but Moon’s defense has deteriorated and he’s an offensive liability at times.
And Cuzzy, I can’t believe the Suns won that game. I guess this will be the ‘The Suns Have Finally Put it Together with Shaq” week in their saga.

I hate the spurs even tho I said they would win
glad to see the Suns play some good ball
The Star had a story on Parker’s neck scratches. You know it’s a slow news day when…
haha thanks for the tip
“Anthony Parker, the Raptors’ swingman, pulled a fetching blue sweater over his head and though the fabric appeared to be the usual pro-athlete-grade cashmere, Parker winced as though it were steel wool.
The discomfort was emanating from a couple of nasty scratches on the left side of his neck, flaming red and doused with post-game ointment, evidence of the underrated power of an NBA fingernail raised in anger.
“I felt like Bruce Lee for a second,” said Parker, referring to the martial arts wizard who made flesh wounds photogenic. “For some reason I’m always the one to get scratched. I have them all over, chest, back, everything. And that’s on the court that that happens … ”
Parker laughed because he’d just been mercilessly teased by teammates who suggested he bring home the tape of Toronto’s 114-106 win over the Seattle SuperSonics as proof to his wife that the claw marks were legitimate professional nicks and not evidence of extracurricular indiscretions. “
