Thanks to the musical ear of a man simply known as Kyle, every week Cuzoogle will feature six songs/videos that you should check out. This week Kyle is liking the sounds of Gordie Johnson, Envelopes, Clinic, Tokyo Police Club, Panthers and of course his No. 1 pick.

De Foi Trempee* Edition

6. Gordie Johnson, This is from last Saturday’s game in Toronto. The American anthem is mediocre, but the blistering guitar version of “O Canada” is pretty sweet. Rumour has it that it was an homage to Jeff Healey.

5. Envelopes, A Swedish band with a French vocalist, weird. I have to admit, I don’t care for the video, but the music is great and the lyrics are cheeky.

4. Clinic, I’m surprised these guys aren’t more popular than they are. They’ve opened for Radiohead and their music was in a Levis commercial. It might have something to do with wearing those surgical masks all the time.

3. Tokyo Police Club, Local boys make good. They are very popular in Montreal, who knew? This is a very cool, quick pop song.

2. Panthers, Another Vice Records score. They have a wannabe Rolling Stones swagger about them, but it’s catchy. Too bad the video has no swagger.

1. Stereophonics, This track is about a year old, but it’s kind of new to me. These guys and Led Zeppelin are the only bands that the Foo Fighters will share a dressing room with.
