Toronto at Denver 9pm ET

Well the road trip will be half over after tonight and I am not feeling any signs of a win. Take into account how the Raptors have played on Friday night’s over the past few months (o-fer) and the fact that they are in Denver tonight and it all points to another loss. The question is will be an entertaining loss like the last two games or a classic blowout that I have expected in the last two games. I am running a little late today on all of those god damn life things so I have to make this short.

Things to do in Denver when you are the Raps

  1. Okay I want to get this out of the way right off the bat because you will hear Chuck talk about it all night. The air is thinner in Denver so the Raps need to stock up on their oxygen before the game. D-Mart can be in charge of hooking the guys up to tanks on the bench. I imagine the air is different but I get tired of this excuse in the NBA.
  2. Box out, Marcus Camby may look like half a man but he is all world when it comes to getting boards. Add to that his ability to block shots and it is very possible that the Camby man has a quad tonight. 10 points, 10 boards, 10 blocks and yes 10 assists.
  3. Do not run with the Nuggets. Yep that air will tire out the Raps and you don’t want to show AI and Melo that it is open shot day at the gym. They will fill up the basket faster than Chuck Swirsky at a SWAG filled trade show.
  4. Look for AP. The guy has been hot and pretty much the best Rap since Bosh went down.
  5. Take a moment to admire Gabrielle Anwar (From Things to Do in Denver when you’re Dead). One of my favs growing up and she has aged well. Recently she has been in The Tudors and Burn Notice, both solid shows.
  6. Try to match Denver’s effort. The Nuggets are in the west so that means they can’t afford to lose to the likes of the Raps. They know they are fighting for their lives every night so they will be playing hard. I am sure it bugs them to knowing they are better than the Raptors and as of today the Nuggets are not even in the playoffs.
  7. Try to keep Ford under control. I know hard to do. Consider this. Ford averaged 20.0 points and 16.0 assists while shooting 61.5 percent from the field in two games against Denver last season.
  8. Be ready for Chuck to comment on the Denver uniforms….I can’t remember which way he swings but I seem to recal him loving or hating them.
  9. Based on the way his yo-yo season has gone, expect Delfino to have a good game and to actually hit a few of those brutal threes he likes to chuck up once he is in the game.
  10. Hope that Chuck does not pick K-Mart as his X-factor.

I will be having a beer or two in celebration of a Friday night, Jack will be saying HELLLOOOO and the Raps are finally going to suffer a blowout.

Yep get ready for it, the Nuggets will win 109-89.
