Cleveland 90, Toronto 83
Another loss in the books, another night of all of us questioning what Sam is thinking. It is becoming a broken record among the Raptors nation to keep asking does Sam know what is he doing and if so, why is he doing it?
The substitution decisions are starting to cost the team wins, the non-existent offensive and defensive game plans are not working. So does Sam need a little help from upstairs maybe? It works in football and I don’t see any reason why NBA coaches can’t get some advice from time to time.
But then again, would Sam listen? I am sure the assistant coaches can see what is happening and I am sure they do their best to suggest ideas. But in the end Sam makes the calls and he sticks to what he thinks works.
The telecast was played out like a mini-drama last night.
Ford stuck around way to long to start the fourth. We all knew it, we were all calling for Jose to come back. Add in the little interview where Sam stuck up for T.J. and the constant camera shots of Jose on the bench and the night had all the makings of Who daddy likes best.
I never expected the Raps to win and I happily flipped over to watch some March Madness. But with a few plays here and there, some better coaching moves and some shots going down, the Raptors could of stole that one.
The start of fourth was where the game was decided. Cleveland came on strong as expected but no sign of Jose, who had it going on in the third.
I think my exact quote while watching was “Jose makes my tummy feel better”.
The good teams ride the hot player and don’t care if he gets tired. I never see the Pistons take out RIP or Sheed when they are fire. Phil would never sit anyone on his team if they had it going, so what is Sam doing?
Not going to go on, I want to enjoy my day and not get down on the Raps.
The home games are big, I want the 6 spot because I don’t want to see LBJ in the first round that is for sure.
Other thoughts
- I want to kick Damon Jones in the head.
- Yep the camera on Jose was not needed, Sam can’t see it and he is the one that needed the hint.
- LeBron gets on my nerves too. I have always liked Kobe better. LBJ is amazing but it is just the way he acts around the court he seems to think he is entitled to everything. Kobe can do it to but he has earned it.
- Ben Wallace is useless, ever since leaving the other Wallace.
- One thing I did notice and I bet some of you did as well. How many times did you confuse LBJ for Wallace on the court. Man Lebron is a big boy.
- Rod Black, worst reporter in sports.
- Chuck’s “You gotta be kidding me” makes me want to throw something at the tv.
Next up the Nuggets…..no idea what to expect.
Happy Easter all.
Game Ball RASHO and Jose take a halfer on this night.

cuzzy,
1) The game wasn’t decided at the beginning of the 4thQ.
The game was decided when Moon missed the open 15′ jumper he took with 1:05 remaing in the game.
If Moon hits THAT shot then the Raptors still had a chance to win last night’s game.
On the road, vs a solid rebounding team, like Cleveland, with it being Bosh’s 2nd game back from his knee injury, the Raptors did a good job with the way they played last night overall.
The poste-game remarks/comments made by Sam Mitchell and the players were 100% accurate, last night.
2) Given Toronto’s soft schedule the rest of the way … the Raptors will probably finish in the 5th spot and play the Cavaliers in the 1st Round of the playoffs.
Cleveland will advance … and the Raptors will remain amongst ‘the Pack’ in the Eastern Conference.
Enjoy your Easter Weekend! (… and the Madness that is March)

Just my opinion that it was decided at that time…..I know technically it wasn’t.
is Van Gundy available?
cuz,
No problem … I wasn’t trying to find fault with your observation.
In general, the key deficiency with this team is Rebounding.
Until “Mitchell-angelo” addresses this perpetual problem … to the tune of 35-51, last night vs Cleveland … the Raptors will forever be a ‘Fool’s Gold’ team … compared to Boston, LA Lakers, Detroit, San Antonio, etc.

no worries, debate is always a good thing.
Against the Cavs you need a good buffer for when LBJ goes off. They did not have one…
Moon needs to never take a long jumper again.
Pop, Phil , Sloane etc would of yanked him.
Actually, I don’t think Pop, Phil, Riles, Sloan, etc., would have yanked Moon, at all … I think each of thos 4 coaches (in conjunction with their GM’s) would be using a 3-man Wing rotation of Parker-Moon-Graham on a consistent basis which would allow the Raptors to Rebound & Defend better on a possession-by-possession basis and, therefore, reduce this team’s overall reliance on its perimeter shooting.
As I’ve said already, elsewhere, fixing the problems with this team do not lie in playing either Jamario Moon or Jose Calderon fewer minutes … but in using them for more minutes overall (with Bosh, Nesterovic, Humphries & Graham) and in different ways than they’re be used right now.

I guess I meant when Moon takes those jumpers instead of driving.
I think he should play but it does not seem to get through to him the way sam is doing it.
players value PT the most, you take it away odds are they will smarten up..
