Denver 109, Toronto 100

I did not hear any bitchin about pizza today.

I was trying to come up with an angle why the Raptors lost other than the usual reasons but I could not. In the end talent won out and the Raptors just got beat by a better team. Could they of won? Of course but with Bosh still working himself back into the lineup and AI and Melo just going off, I am not surprised by today’s score.

I am full of a tasty Easter meal and exhausted from flipping back and forth from all of the great college games to go into great detail so it is just point forms for today.

The good

  • I love CBC games, they put a lot of work into it (short of spelling Cleveland wrong in the pregame). EF actually prepares to be on camera unlike Mr. Potentially Potential Rod Black. Great halftime bit on Parker as well.
  • Jamario Moon was in over his head today but he sure tried his ass off. He took some long jumpers he did not need to but I think the dude is busting his ass and having fun. He tends to be Smith’s whipping boy and he gets better all the time. I love his upside. Reminds me of a shorter John Salley.
  • Rasho keeps on playing solid. Always passing well and scorer the easy buckets inside. I don’t think he is getting the attention he deserves for how well he has played the last few weeks.
  • Bargnani’s first Q was great. In fact that was a great quarter by the whole team. To bad it did not keep up. Where did Il Muggo go? Did he lose it or did he not get the playing time?
  • Bosh was doing his best to keep everyone in the game when he clearly did not have his A-game first step. Normally CB4 should blow by K-Mart all night long.
  • Ford played under control.
  • Stephen Curry! Oh sorry wrong game.

The bad

  • I still think Calderon needs to play more.
  • Everyone biting on those pump fakes. I know it is hard but you gotta stay put.
  • Did Delfino play?
  • Late turnovers killed the Raps.
  • The interview with Bargs heading into halftime. “I get ball, I shoot.”

Other thoughts

  • The Oliver Miller story about him bringing bags of fast food to work was true. I was interning for Dome Productions back then and saw it for my own eyes. It was gross. Oliver always had this meay sweats glaze going on.
  • This is just bad timing with the strength of schedule, Bosh coming back and the Wiz and Sixers on fire. This is why that weak Feb. sked was so key. They could handle this slump if they had those easy wins they should of had.
  • Thinking about Detroit on Wednesday is not fun. Okay won’t worry about it until Wednesday morning.
  • What a great day of college hoops.
  • Raptors first quarter was great, best start they have had in a long time (against a good team).
  • Denver is a good team and it will be sad if they don’t get in the postseason. Dirk going down today could open the door.
  • Did anyone else get the vibe that Denver did not respect or take the Raps seriously? Granted I guess after the blowout back in Denver.
  • Bring on the Pistons!
