New York at Toronto 7pm ET

Well now the Darrick Martin situation has been resolved the team can now move forward and cruise into the playoffs. Yep I am sure he was the problem holding the team back from being the dominant bunch we want them to be. Not much has been said but did you ever wonder if it was Skeelo himself that was playing the other two PGs on each other.

“Hey T.J. I hear Jose said you are slower than service at a Spanish restaurant.”

“Psssst Jose I think T.J. just said your hair gel stinks and you wish your hair was a spikey as Delfino’s.”

Yep you get the idea, we will soon see if this was the team’s biggest problem.

So tonight the Raps host the Knicks at the ACC and to be honest I have no idea what to expect. I would like to say an easy win with lots of pizza for all and a box score stuffed with great stats. Let me first tell you the reason why I am not very optimistic.

The Raptors suck ass on Friday night. Take a look at the recent history.

  • 01/19/08 @ Philadelphia L 95-99
  • 02/01/08 L.A. Lakers L 101-121
  • 02/08/08 L.A. Clippers L 98-102
  • 02/22/08 @ New York L 99-103
  • 02/29/08 Indiana L 111-122
  • 03/07/08 Washington L 106-110 (OT)
  • 03/14/08 @ Denver L 105-137
  • 03/21/08 @ Cleveland L 83-90

There you have it. The Raptors have not won a game on Friday night in 2008. The worst part is most of those games they should of won. You can throw the Lakers game out but other than that the night very easily could of ended up a win with better play and more effort.

So will the string end tonight? Hard to say. After playing so well on Wednesday in a win over the Pistons it would be a real letdown to lay an egg tonight.

After making a pair of lineup changes, the Raptors feel they could be getting back on track.

Sam Mitchell decided to put T.J. Ford and Rasho Nesterovic into the starting lineup in place of Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani and that seemed to work for one game at least.

Toronto is seventh in the Eastern Conference and appears to be headed to the playoffs, with a five-game lead on eighth-place Atlanta and a 5 1/2-game advantage over ninth-place New Jersey.

The seventh spot likely means a first-round matchup with Detroit, so the Raptors are looking to move up, trailing sixth-place Philadelphia by one-half game and fifth-place Washington by one.

This is going to go down to the wire and to be honest I kind of expect this drama from my team. They never make anything easy.

Although Calderon came off the bench Wednesday, he matched Ford with 13 points and both guards were on the court down the stretch for Toronto.

Toronto hasn’t lost at home to New York since March 19, 2004, and has won two of three overall meetings this season. Bosh is averaging 26.7 points against the Knicks this season.

I am going to predict two things for tonight.

The Raptors break the string of Friday night losses and Stephen Curry beats Wisconsin. Boom there you have it.

Raps win 110-92. Friday night pizza never tasted so good.
