New Orleans 118, Toronto 111

(930 pm local time) Don’t let the final score fool you, it was never really that close. Sorry for the graphic display of poop but that is pretty much how I summed up my Raptors viewing experience today. More later after I have a good purge of dino-poop.

(Updated) Well I think I have gotten all of the basketball out of my system for now. What a long day of hoops. First I watched Texas lose (I needed them bad) and then Kansas finally kill the only underdog left. Then came the Raps. A big game against a top team. Being in a tight race for the 5 and 6 spot in the East, you would figure the Raps would come out with a lot of effort and intensity. Nope, instead it was a Mo Pete love fest as expected and the Hornets laughed their way to an easy win.

Normally in my recaps I touch on the broadcast and what Ch-Eo said. Well I am just tired of it and am not going to give them the blog space that they don’t deserve. One thing I have learned watching all of this college ball is I love announcers who are not homers. They talk about the teams, call the game and add relevant stories. Perfect. Not the same stories every game and certainly not one-sided opinions. The commercials to name a Chuck-ism only show that he has clearly become bigger than he really needs to be.

My entry for the next “Chuck-ism” is Oh baby that was some shitty broadcasting.

Now back to the game.

Just like last week against the Nuggets we again saw how teams don’t respect the Raps. The Hornets were having a great time doing what they wanted and when they wanted. They were laughing and acting like the game was won at tip. It pretty much was. Did anyone think to cover David West? He made the All-Star team in case you did not hear.

Chris Paul is amazing but come on, the Raps mailed that one in. Should they beat the Hornets? No. But it was over at the half.

It took newbie Linton Johnson and Hump to stir a comeback that never was going to happen.

Chris Bosh did not have it today, he looked like he was not into it and kept taking jumpers. Okay he hit a three but I don’t remember him getting to the line. Yes I was flipping a lot but give me a break if he did.

This game had the stench of poop as soon as I saw Rod Black and his heart on for Mo Pete.

The kissing the floor by Mo Pete was aw shucks great. I was waiting for Calderon to come push him away and defending his Nice Guy turf in TO.

I will say that Delfino tried to ball and put up a lot of points but when CB4 and the PGs are not bringing it, it does not matter what the bench guys do.

BTW Kapono starting was a real gem of an idea. Did he even score? Hell start Linton Johnson, he at least looked like he wanted to ball.

I am losing interest in this team and that is sad because of how much enjoyment I used to get. Maybe I expect too much? This team is not as good as the team last season and one of the reasons was sitting on the other team’s bench today.

Watching all of those Mo Pete highlights made me realize the Raps have very little competitive heart. Bitch and complain about Mo all you want but he tried his ass off.

If Bosh is left to be the team’s heart and soul I don’t know if it will work. They need a guy who will demand effort and get it from everyone. Something to think about in the offseason.

All in all a really stinker today by the Raps. Not much more I can say.

Game Ball Kris Humphries for actually trying
