I'm thinking that if you're going to do something that big; it's going to have to be on a dedicated server that you control. I can see why HostGator would shut you down, and it's unfortunate that they didn't call you to give you warning before pulling the plug. Unfortunately, the dedicated server option is pricey unless you can get a sponsored deal.
