Tweet, tweet.

Is it a bird? No it is yet another way to connect with people on the Internet.

I have heard a great deal about this application called Twitter for a little while now and being the impressionable person I am I had to sign up and ask questions later.

After looking into it this is some more here is the deal.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (or “tweets”; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via short message service (e.g. on a cell phone), instant messaging, or a third-party application such as Twitterrific or Facebook.

Seems kind of like a longer version of the Facebook status message to me.

Updates are then displayed on the user’s profile page and instantly delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them or follow them as the lingo goes.

Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application.

So I am trying it out, have a handful of people following me and a list of those I am following and I have not really figured out the point.

Oh well I will keep trying and see if it catches on.

Twitter Cuzoogle up people.
