Almost stole one in Orlan-doh
Posted by Cuzzy as Toronto RaptorsOrlando 104, Toronto 103 - Magic lead series 2-0
As exciting as it was to watch my Flyers beat the Caps in OT I would of preferred Bosh hitting that last second shot. Man that was close. The series is now 2-0 and the Raps are in a deep hole. I am not saying it is over but they have their work cut out for them now. Funny how one shot could of made it so different. The Raps once again had to battle back after opening the game badly again. If only they could show up in the first quarter, they would win a game. In the end the Magic made the big shot and Bosh missed a jumper he usually hits. That is how it goes sometimes.
Toronto got a great game from three of their players. Bosh was carrying the team for a lot of the first half and you could tell he was gassed by the end. Going against Howard must be exhausting but Bosh did his best to pull the Raps to the win. Jason Kapono once again had a great game and he should of had a lot more shots. The guy was on fire, feed him the rock. Instead of endless Moon shots why not get it to Jason. His shot is effortless and for some reason he has found a way to get open.
Jose Calderon put on a fourth quarter show of great dishes and timely threes. He took the game over from T.J. Ford who seems to be having size issues with the Magic. Drawing the charge with 10 seconds left almost helped grab the win for Toronto.
I do have to give some props to Delfino. He did not have huge numbers but he played hard and mixed it up a few times with Howard. He hit a three near the end that I was screaming at him for. You know……..NO!……YES!
Now for the bad and I think the reason the Raps lost. Andrea Bargnini while he started to hit his shots is useless on D. I mean useless! He does not box out, he does not close out and he does not look like he knows what he is doing. Frustrating as hell to watch and I wish someone would slap that moronic look off his face. He boxes out once or twice a game and it could mean a win.
I remember back to when I played in high school what happened if we did not box out. It was scary to go back to the bench that was for sure.
The Raptors did better on D tonight once the first quarter was over. They played some pressure and really tried to get a hand in shooter’s faces. I still think they need to not double team as much and stick to the man-to-man.
The Raptors played physical and the series is really taking on a tough appearance. That foul on Bosh by Hedo could of really erupted into something more.
By the way that was a joke of a T on Howard, that guy is too happy and smiley to taunt someone.
All in all the game was exciting and I was pleased with the effort. Just like the entire season the Raps seem to be unable to get that one key rebound or hit the big shot. Orlando did and they got the win.
Toronto can play with the Magic and if a few things go there way they could climb back into the series.
I am keeping positive because a series is not a series until someone wins on the road.
The ACC will be insane on Thursday night and the Raptors are now playing tough and physical.
Sam Mitchell is still really bugging me with his coaching choices but if they can get a win in Game 3 I will ignore it for now. If they go out in a sweep those questionable choices will have to be looked at again.
Was Bosh fouled at the end by Howard? Kind of looked like it but you are not going to get that call at the end unless your name is LeBron James.
Game 3 will be all about starting out better and not having to dig out again. If you have a 39 point quarter in a game you should win a game.
Gonna go check out the Suns and Spurs and see how the big boys do it.
See you Thursday swimming in the sea of red.

Aah, cuzzy, at least you’re up and thinking right.

That’s a paraphrase of a quote by Phil Jackson. I firmly believe we have what it takes to tie this series up at 2-2 and take it from there. If feel confident we can do it as long as Mitchell just doesn’t fuck up any more and sticks to a normal starting lineup and consults any high-school coach before drawing up plays for late-game situations.

Carlos was brilliant but not a good way to end the game after high performance night.
