It has been a few days since the Raptors season came to an end. Time to clean out lockers, return the borrowed DVDs and head in separate directions until training camp. Of course this is feeding time for the Toronto media and despite what everyone is saying it looks like Sam Mitchell will be back.
Is this a good thing? Hard to say really. I like SMitch as a person and enjoy listening to his blunt interviews. But that does not mean he is the right coach to make the team better.
There are going to be a lot of quality coaches out there to grab so does that tempt BC? Mike D’Antoni seems to be on the way out in Phoenix, does BC revisit that idea since it did work when they were both in Arizona.
It is going to be a long offseason for the Raptors and one that should be very interesting. I can see some big changes coming and I don’t think it would be the worst thing to grab a new coach.
If not that maybe different assistants that have specialties in offensive and defensive play. In the NHL there are always great coaches behind the head coach who gets all the glory if a team wins. That could work in Toronto as well. I am pretty sure Doc Rivers and Phil Jackson benefit from who they have next to them on the bench.
Raptors Nation who do you want running the show? There are many options out there and Cuzoogle would love to hear your thoughts. I can already sense Khandor warming up the keyboard.

Smitch is crap, we all know that.
He just finished his first year of a 4 year deal. There is zero chance BC will pull the cord this quick.
The team is going to be the same mess next year with or without Sam. But if they get off to a bad start, he can start looking over his shoulder. The east will still be terrible and our no defense, no rebounding, streak shooting club should still be able to finish in the top 8 next year.
Very true Steve.
I wanted Adleman last year anyways.
