Well the battle for starting point guard in Toronto is on and it won’t be decided on the court. Jose Calderon has made it clear that he wants to be a point guard in the NBA and it does not matter in what city.

“I want to be a starter,” Calderon wrote in a blog entry on his official website.

“I will not be on a team in which I cannot be an important contributor.”

We all figured this was coming and personally I think it is great that Jose is putting up a fight. He already took a back seat once for the good of the team but now it is time to get paid and to start.

BC and company better get their battle plans ready for July 1 (or earlier) because this scenario has all the makings of tense and dramatic situation

It made me think of the movie Crimson Tide.

Granted the roles are reversed but it made me think of the fight over who got to be captain of the sub.

Capt. Ramsey: What’d you think, son? That I was just some crazy old coot, putting everyone in harm’s way as I yelled “YEE-HA!”?
