Reality television has pretty much exhausted all of the typical concepts so it is with no suprise that finally a professional sports team is going to offer a roster spot based on winning a competition based mostly on the people’s vote.

The brains of the Toronto Raptors have decided that they need to think outside of the box and the best way for them to find another Jamario Moon is to join forces with the powers of reality TV and create a show.

Coming this summer be on the look out for So You Think You Can Raptor. It will follow the layout of the Fox hit, So You Think You Can Dance and the end prize is a roster spot with next season’s Toronto Raptors.

There were many names tossed around for a show title and this one seemed to be the best. There was So You Think You Can Coach and So You Think You Can Grab a God Damn Rebound but most advertisers did not want to deal with the negative tone.

Last week Bryan said they were planning another free-agent, pre-draft camp but don’t let that fool you, the TV show is a go.

The show will break down like this.

BC, Sam and The Godfather will be the judges and every baller trying out will have to show of their skills on their own and in a team environment.

After weeks of weeding out the posers from the true players the contest will start and every week the fans of Raptors nation will get to help decide by voting online.

Don’t get too excited. In the end BC calls the shots so even if we all vote for an athletic wingman with a killer jumper, BC could say no and sign another Euro.

Sounds like a great show to watch during a summer of no Raptors ball.

But wait, there is more.

Just when you thought it could not get any better, doing his best Cat Deeley will be the one and only Chuck Swirsky live via satellite from Chicago.

So stay tuned for local listings everyone, you don’t want to miss the chance to help mold next year’s club and maybe just maybe find another diamond in the rough.

(This show is of course fake until BC reads the blog and runs with the killer idea)
