Now that the taste of a disappointing season has left my mouth it is time to look to next year for the Raptors. I have no idea what the trade or free angent market will bring so the obvious next step is the draft.
After looking around the Internet at the various mock draft sites here are some of the names floating around for the Raps to take in the opening round.
FanNation Clement’s Blog - Chris Douglas-Roberts, SG, Memphis
MyNBADraft.com - Chris Douglas-Roberts, SG, Memphis
NBADRaft.net - Russell Westbrook, PG UCLA
DraftExpress - Alexis Ajinca, C France
Hoops Hype - Alexis Ajinca, C France
NBC Sports - Nicolas Batum, SF France
Inside Hoops - Nicolas Batum, SF France
RealGM - Nicolas Batum, SF France
CollegeHoops.net - Joe Alexander, SF/PF West Virginia
About.com - JaVale McGee, C, Nevada
One thing seems clear after looking at all of those. The experts believe the Raptors need to add some Francais to their Euro stew.
This will become more clear as the draft approaches.
What are your thoughts Raptors Nation?

CDR or Joe Alexander are our best bets. One is a creative, score at will 2-guard and the other is the white, pre-cry baby Vince Carter.
Westbrook has no chance of falling to the Raps.
Roy Hibbert will be the choice. Rasho is leaving and there are no big men on the FA market for the next few years.
CDR is a great college player, but his skills won’t translate to the NBA.
Will the Raps ever decide that they need to work on the rebounding? No more Eurotrash.
Steve,
On the contrary, CDR is going to be a very good NBA player.

CDR is the best choice, Batum is not a bad choice either.
Raptors need more aggressive and intelligent players. CDR has a mentality that cannot be taught, and although his skills might not initially be as successful in the NBA he would improve very quickly. CDR is able to make space and draw defenders. Batum is a very intelligent player, not as aggressive but is a good cutter and will give other players a better shot opportunity.
