I got a list of demands written on the palm of my hands.

All of these days off with no ball is killing me. The end of the Conference Finals seems like weeks ago and the start of the NBA Finals is still a day away. What it has done is given everyone and their blog time to cover every aspect of the dream series. Will it end up being a build up with no substance? I can’t see that happening. The Lakers and Celtics should be a great series with a lot of great moments and tense drama. Here is a list of seven things I would like to see during the NBA Finals.

In no particular order

1. All games go over the 100 point mark (for both teams). The Eastern Conference Finals was not pretty to watch and that was mainly because there was too much good defense and not enough smooth offense. This should change with the Lakers who like to get up and down the floor and score of the fast break. Oh and there is some guy named Kobe who has been known to put up almost 100 points by himself.

2. This one is for the people in Canada. I would really love to see less of those god damn Gatorade commercials where the Raptors players tell us how they love to hydrate themselves. Enough already. On another TV note I am hoping we get to at least see the ABC version of the games and not have to put up with TSN’s brutal half time shows.

3. I want to see a full seven game series. Stretching the series out as long as possible keeps the NBA season alive and for all of us hoops fans we might as well get as much as well can. Remember how brutal last year’s Final was? There is a better chance of a Clinton being in the White House in 2008 than there is a sweep in this series.

4. I want ABC/ESPN to can that super, super slow motion camera. At least limit it a little. The bumpers and replays that the commentators have trouble talking over are brutal. While they are at it retire that camera on a wire that makes everyone feel sea sick.

5. Okay this one counters my first point but it could be funny to see. I would like to see the Lakers fail to score for the first 10 minutes of the game, meaning their bench players can’t sit down. Who will say screw it and break the plan of not sitting until the team scores a point?

6. I want to see one of those dunks from Kobe that will be played forever like a Jordan highlight. Maybe down the middle and cramming on KG? Maybe from the baseline in the crunch. This year’s playoffs has yet to have that dunk like last year’s Baron dunk.

7. I want to see the Lakers win. Hard to believe that I am saying it because I grew up as a Larry Bird fan and hated the Lakers. I want to see the Purple and Gold win simply because I am tired of Boston and the whole Big Three BS. ESPN loves them and living on the East Coast it is all I see and read about. Enough already. Oh and I could handle never seeing Eddie House’s kid in a giant tee shirt jumping around like he is in a rap video.
