It is bittersweet for me to read so much about teams being interested in T.J. Ford. On the one hand I am a huge fan of his and am not quite convinced that turning over the keys to Calderon is the best thing. On the other hand T.J. has managed to put himself in the villain role in Toronto and most likely on his way out of town.

He is a great asset to play in order to make the team better but would all of this be happening if he got injured? Most people seem to forget that pre-Horford, Ford was one of the best Raptors on the year and was putting up amazing numbers in the PG spot. I know, I know time to stop rehashing Ford vs. Calderon.

It is a business and if the team can get a piece that will make them better I say do it.

The market for Ford’s services is heating up even though neither Bryan Colangelo or anybody else would go into details about the subject after six prospects were put through the paces the other day.

Just from what I have read, it is clear that the club has received genuine interest from a handful of teams about Ford whicj is always nice to know. BC was partying with other general manger’s at last week’s draft camp in Orlando and it’s likely the names of both Ford and Calderon came up over a beer or two. Who would not pick BC’s ear when so many teams need a point guard in this league.

In his search for a better draft choice, BC knows that he will have to give up one of his PGs to get it. Those are the cards he is playing with and it will be interesting to see if he plays it cautious or goes all in before the draft.

What the other Raptors bloggers are saying about the Dinos.

Arsenalist - The Raptors are a “fairly active team in the trade market.
AltRaps - The best Raptor ever contest is still going on.
Raptors Talk - They gave everyone a chance to be GM for day, great post.
