The NBA draft is on Thursday and it is always interesting to see how it goes down. The Celtics championship team was basically built on draft day last year. A lot can happen and being a Raptors fan I am hoping for some magic in the form of a trade or a steal at the No. 17 spot. To get an idea of what kind of player goes at that position here is the last 17 players chosen at No. 17.

2007 - Sean Williams, Boston College, to New Jersey

2006 - Shawne Williams, Memphis, to Indiana

2005 - Danny Granger, New Mexico, to Indiana

2004 - Josh Smith, Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), to Atlanta

2003 - Zarko Cabarkapa, Serbia & Montenegro, to Phoenix

2002 - Juan Dixon, Maryland, to Washington

2001 - Michael Bradley, Villanova, to Toronto

2000 - Desmond Mason, Oklahoma State, to Seattle

1999 - Cal Bowdler, Old Dominion, to Atlanta

1998 - Radoslav Nesterovic, Slovenia, to Minnesota

1997 - Johnny Taylor, Tennessee-Chattanooga, to Orlando

As you can see from the group of players it is really hit or miss. I would love to get a Josh Smith or a Danny Granger and make up for the last time the Raps picked 17th. I wonder what Michael Bradley is up to these days?
