Well yesterday was a busy and exciting day for the Toronto Raptors. We already knew most of what was going on but it all became official finally.

The Raps rolled out pressers to announce the addition of Jermaine O’Neil and that Jose Calderon is now the starting point guard. It had all the makings to the first two mintues to a movie with flash bulbs and motivational speakers. It was clear everyone had been briefed on the right thing to say. No negative press here, it was all smiles and good times.

There is no point going over what people said or what it means because if you are a Raptors fan you have probably already read that over at The Arsenalist.

All you need to know is that this is a rebirth for JON and Jose Calderon continues to be the nicest guy in the world. Maybe he should run for Mayor of Toronto?

Along with the two big names of the day the Raps also made it official the other day that Matt Devlin will be the new voice of the team. No more salami and cheese, no more Swirsky. Can you deal with that?

Devlin joins the Raptors after stints as the play-by-play voice of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and Memphis Grizzlies.

I know what you are thinking, you want to hear him right?

Well I can’t seem to find any footage or sound right now but do know that he loves to eat.

What does it all mean? Well simply put, the point guard drama is gone, the Raps have pu their whole season on O’Neil’s knee and there will be much better game calling (in my opinion).

Quite a day for July don’t you think?

Here is the footage in case you don’t feel like looking for it.

I guess now we wait for more possible news, hopefully a new small forward but I am not sure that is going to happen.
