It was over a month ago that 2K Sports announced that 2008 Defensive Player of the Year Kevin Garnett would be featured as the cover athlete for this year’s highly anticipated basketball video game, NBA 2K9.

Now there is a special edition cover that will be sold in Toronto and Italy featuring former top pick Andrea Bargnani.

Andrea is one of the most popular and skilled Italian players in the NBA today, and he represents everything we love about basketball. He’s a silent assassin who is always hanging out by the three point line and plays his heart out every time the Raptors play Miami,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.

Don’t worry Raptors fans, there is no jinx coming because it can’t get worse can it?
