Olympic organizers say human error is to blame after an email meant for 80 prospective volunteers vying for positions at the 2010 Games was sent to 36,000 people instead.

Now I have sent an email to the wrong person before because of the stupid auto-filler thingy but how do you add 35,920 extra people to an email and not notice?
Donna Wilson, of the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, said Monday that 4,000 people flooded a call centre to ask why they couldn’t sign up for a “learning session” as indicated in the email.
She said the spots had already been assigned and now the committee is examining the computer technology to ensure everything is triple-checked before emails go out in the future.
I would love to be at that meeting.
They have emailed an apology to everyone and that they understand people are disappointed by the mistake.
In a related story 67,000 people got an apology in their inbox that they have no idea what it is for.
