We are missing NBA basketball so much at Cuzoogle that we are going to look ahead to the 2008-2009 season even though it is the summer. This will be a series of prediction threads where you can voice your opinions on what you think will happen once the season tips off.
The first installment will be how you see the regular season shaping up. Who will have the best record and where will they fit in the standings. Don’t worry about listing actual records (math is hard) but just list the teams in order of best records. Make sense?
Post all of your predictions in the comments section and you can use the handy list to cut and paste and then rearrange however you want.

I suck at picking seeds, but I really like Utah or NO to come out of the west this season.
Raps Fans last blog post..Player Interviews - Summer League
There is no damn way that the 76ers who played out their asses last year and Raptors finish ahead of the Cavs. No way.
I love that you posted this. Ever since the KG trade, the offseason in the NBA has become an interesting time during the season. Now, with Elton Brand, Baron Davis, and Corey Maggete switching zip codes, it’s known that anything is possible. This only serves as a prelude to what could possibly happen in 2010, but it has made the NBA ver exciting lately.
West
1. LA - Bynum makes them tougher instantly
2. NO - Paul will be a superstar for the next decade
3. Utah - Deron Williams is right behind him
4. SA - Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker still got a year left
5. Houston - This is conditional, only if T-Mac is back
6. Portland - Better get them now, because they are only getting better
7. Phoenix - It tells you a lot about the West to see how much this team has fallen
8. Dallas - Howard for Artest should have been done
9. LAC - Need one more scorer if they want to get to the playoffs
10. GS - Monta’s breakout year
11. Sacramento - It really depends how much this team gets for Artest
12. Minnesota - Love is the main question mark for next season
13. Memphis - Mayo and Gay are two of the best young guards in the league
14. Denver - This team needs to make a big splash in ‘10: Bosh perhaps?
15. Oklahoma City - Their nickname isn’t the only thing that stinks
Wildcard: Memphis
East
1. Boston - Champs got this spot earned already
2. Orlando - Howard’s lone weakness: free throw shooting
3. Detroit - Dumars must think this reconstruction through properly
4. Cleveland - LeBron is due for a MVP; his team was closest to taking out the Celtics
5. Philadelphia - Sixers were getting better before they got Brand
6. Washington - Wiz will only get this spot if they remain healthy
7. Toronto - It’s Calderon’s team now, and that’s not a bad thing
8. MIlwaukee - Great draft and great trade sneaks them in
9. Miami - There’s potential for more here
10. Chicago - It’s gonna take some time with Rose
11. Atlanta - They must sign Josh Smith
12. NY - see below
13. NJ - Pray for a Lebron James miracle
14. Indiana - They need some more help if they want to get to the next level
15. Charlotte - Don’t understand any of the moves this organizations makes
Wildcard: Miami
Still like a rematch in the Finals tho, this time I like the Lakers
awesome breakdowns guys.

[...] 2008-2009 NBA Regular Season Predictions- Cuzoogle [...]
hey now!!
what’s up with this 6th seed stuff?
Portland’s going 98-0 next season.
1st time for everything!
jeremiah..
there are only 82 games in an NBA season..
and
the Celtics will win once more..
because..
POINT GUARD
Rajon Rondo outplayed all the other point guards the Celtics played with in the playoffs
SHOOTING GUARD
Ray Allen finished the season red hot!! He’ll probably be as hot as he finished (7 - 9 3PT’s)
SMALL FORWARD
Paul Pierce will definitely show people why he was Finals MVP. The key is passing.
POWER FORWARD
Do I still need to explain KEVIN GARNETT’s role next season??? Reigning DPOY!!
CENTER
Kendrick Perkins has to improve a bit but he’s still in the top 10 centers in the NBA..
6TH MAN
Leon Powe’s gonna replace Posey as 6th man. He scored 21pts in 15mins and in the Finals!!! That means, 30 mins. = 42 points!!!! What a monster..
going to take a wild guess and say Celtics fan?
East:
Boston Celtics - They still got the best playerToronto Raptors- They have Jermaine O’neal, Chrish bosh, and Andrea barganani is really gotten better, and they have jose Calsderon who will have an amazing season next year.. They’ll kill it
Detroit Pistons
Miami Heat- Thry have a really good front court, probably the best in the league.
Philadelphia 76ers- eltaon brand , can I say more
Washington Wizards- Agent zero is back so they’ll be unstoppable
Cleveland Cavaliers
Orlando Magic - Really haven’t made big changes, but they still have Dwight
Chicago Bulls
Milwaukee Bucks
Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Bobcats
New Jersey Nets
Indiana Pacers
NY Knicks
West:
LA Lakers
NO Hornets
SA Spurs
Utah Jazz
Houston Rockets
Portland Trailblazers
Phoenix Suns
Dallas Mavericks
GS Warriors
LA Clippers
Denver Nuggets
Sacramento Kings
Minnesota T-Wolves
OKC Thunder
Memphis Grizzlies
East:
Boston Celtics
Orlando Magic
Detroit Pistons
Cleveland Cavaliers
Philadelphia 76ers
Washington Wizards
Toronto Raptors
Miami Heat
Atlanta Hawks
Chicago Bulls
Milwaukee Bucks
Charlotte Bobcats
New Jersey Nets
Indiana Pacers
NY Knicks
The Raptors are coming. O’Neal makes this team almost as good on the floor as anyone but Boston and maybe the Pistons. He puts all the players into their proper roles and gives the Raps someone to bang and score with the other bigs in the league. Bosh gets some serious help, Kapono gets to shoot 3s and their poor perimeter defence gets better with a better interior defence. Watch out for them. 2nd or 3rd in the Atlantic and in the top 4 in the Conference.
it goes like this in the east the top three teams.
1. Celtics
2.Cleveland
3. detroit.
These are the top 3 teams done give me none of this tononto and orlando, and philly is going to be terrible those are the top 3 in the east, Cavs gave boston the hardest series in game seven they almost beat the celtics. In was 88 to 87 in game 7 with 1 minute left cleveland almost won that series
carls last blog post..The Optimist
West:
NO Hornets (This will be by a fairly large margin)
Phoenix Suns (May think I’m crazy but I have a strange feeling that the Suns and Lakers are going to tie with the Suns winning the tie breaker)
Houston Rockets (They take a while to get adjusted to artest but pick up speed the second half of the season)
Utah Jazz(only here because they won they’re division)
LA Lakers(tied with Phoenix but because of seeding rules they drop this low)
SA Spurs(Age is showing but they still have some fight left in them)
Denver Nuggets( Squeaks they’re way in if not tied with Portland)
Wild Card: Portland Trailblazers
Goin’ Fishin:
Dallas Mavericks
GS Warriors
LA Clippers
Sacramento Kings
Minnesota T-Wolves
OKC Thunder
Memphis Grizzlies
East:
Boston Celtics(Automatic)
Detroit Pistons (Im going to stick with them here because they are proven)
Philadelphia 76ers (obvious reasons)
Orlando Magic (right behind the sixers, this could easily reverse)
Toronto Raptors (They’re going to have a good year, but slow down towards the end)
Washington Wizards (They’re gonna do good this year but competition is stiff)
Cleveland Cavaliers (This will be a horrible year for the Cav’s despite Lebrons amazing year. Also the last year he will be a Cav!)
New Jersey Nets (Going to surpize everyone this year)
Goin Fishin:
Chicago Bulls
Milwaukee Bucks
Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Bobcats
Miami Heat
Indiana Pacers
NY Knicks
Can we please start a thread for where Lebron James is going to end up after he averages (in the neighborhood of) 30 points a game and the Cavs still end up the 4 or 5 seed.
Which brings me some 2008-2009 predictions:
Eastern Conf. Playoffs First Round
1. Barring any catastrophes in Boston, the Celtics pull home court in the East playing the 8th seeded Miami Heat. Don’t forget with Wade and Marion are both looking to be healthy and due to this Beasley will get his shots. Their defense is 10 times better than last year’s eight seed in the West (Denver) and should make a run into the 8th spot. But the Celts and their 65ish wins (and newly found ability to win playoff games on the road) prove too much. Boston 4-1
2. The Cavs finish in 4th, and a surprisingly healthy Wizards squad pulls the 5 spot. Surprise surprise, the Wizards lose to the Cavs in the first round for the umpteenth time in a row. Cleveland 4-3
3. Detroit (3rd) on the way down and Philly (6th- after another historically slow start and time to figure each other out) match up in what turns into an epic series, with the 76ers winning their first playoff series sans the Answer. Philly 4-2
4. The final first round series pits the second seeded, and very strong Orlando Magic against the underachieving Toronto Raptors. There’s a lot of talent for the Raptors, but I don’t see them meshing which leads to a relatively upsetting season, and an implosion in the first round. Orlando 4-1
[...] Did you voice your opinion on the regular season yet? [...]
new thread posted for end of season awards.

I guess it’s time to move over to the Western Conference. A few more predictions but this time:
Western Conf. Playoffs First Round
1. The top seeded Los Angeles Lakers (retaining their top seed thanks to a healthy Bynum in addition to Kobe and Gasol) take on the 8th seeded Dallas Mavericks. Unfortunately for the Mavs, Cuban’s interests are now moved towards the Cubbies, and the time less spent in the NBA proves to be a devastating defeat in the first round. Lakers 4-0
2. In the 4-5 matchup, we see the Suns hosting a home court series against the Houston Rockets. Shaq vs. Yao. Amare vs. McGrady. And Artest trying his damndest to slow down Nash. In what turns out to be Shaq’s final push in the playoffs, a microcosm of the Suns last shot as a unit to collect the big one, Phoenix proves once again that the Rockets, and McGrady, are not a playoff contender. Suns 4-1
3. In the 2 vs 7 matchup, the Spurs take on the young and upcoming Portland Trailblazers. Similar to the East, we see a matchup of a team, seemingly, on the way down against a team building up. Unlike the Detroit-Philly series, the arguable dynasty, SA, and Tim Duncan, show Oden and the Blazers that they are a few years away from being a contender. Spurs 4-2
4. Finally we have the 3rd seeded Utah Jazz (the worst division winner in the NBA) take on the 6th seeded NO Hornets. In a division with the Spurs and the Rockets, both with great seasons, this Hornets team, worthy of a 2 seed, finds themselves on the road, but against a beatable opponent. Utah continues to have a great home record, but the fact that the Hornets have the ability to win on the road, New Orleans takes the series in 7. Hornets 4-3
Second rounds coming soon.
/quote 2. LOL!!!! I seriously LOL’ed at this in real life. Wow, just WOW!!! You honestly think that fat, ugly, and not to mention, aging O’Neal, can take on Yao? LOL, FORGET IT! T-Mac against Amare is also a bit absurd…and Artest is a nice match up for Nash. In my opinion, you are very biased.
east:
1:Boston-no suprises here
2:Orlando-their young roster pulls ahead of detroit
3:detroit-i don’t see them falling past 4, but 3 is reasonable
4:cleveland-could go as high as 2, but they still need point guard help.
5:toronto-i like this teams chances with jermaine
6:philadelpha-unfortunately, 2 decent players doesnt get this team past the first round, but i like their effort.
7:washington-picture the same team of 1 year ago, but slower.
8:miami heat- if they can figure out how to make marion, beasley and wade mesh, they’ll be unstoppable. the only thing is i don’t see that happening.
9. atlanta
10. new york(i hate to say it)
11.milwaukee.
12. indiana
who cares about the rest
west
1. utah- they may not have the same talent as LA, but they are a better team
2. la lakers- the kobe show. bynum helps with some d.
3.New Orleans- after a breakout season, they slightly decrease
4.houston-same as miami, if they can get artest and mcgrady and yao together they will be great.
5. portland: with oden the next generation is upon us.
6. san antonio: losing some of their luster over time.
7. here’s my suprise: sacramento- a young team, who can score with the tops of the league. there problem last year was defense, and with thompson and all of their young prospects, i can see them making it as high as 5, but also as low as 10. its very hard to predict new teams.
8.phoenix- i have nothing to say
9. denver- this team has never worked and will never work. 8 at the highest.
10. dallas
11.la clippers
12.golden state
ditto
East:
1. Boston- Defending champs, have three of the nba’s top stars and a great supporting cast. and now they are all playoff experinced.
2. Sixers- Do not forget that the sixers nearly defeated Detroit inthe 1st round last year, and that was before they got Elton Brand. Iguodala is a rising star as is Lou Williams and Andre Miller is a very smart player and the most underrated guard in the league.
3. Orlando- Dwight Howard has only one weakness—free throws
4. Detroit- Philly exploited their old age last year
5. Miami- Marion and a pissed of Dwayne Wade
6. Toronto- Jermaine gives them more power
7. Cleveland- The rest of the east simply got better
8. Washington- They will be alot slower this year
West:
1. Lakers- LA is back! the best player in the world and the best international player on the same team.
2. Houston- T-Mac, Artest, and Yao need i say more?
3. New Orleans- CP3 and a grat core of talent
4. San Antonio- Duncan i not getting any younger
5. Denver- This team can work, they won close to 50 games last year but missed the playoffs in a very unusual situation. Prior to last year, 50 wins was an automatic playoff seed
6. Milwaukee- this is my surprise. I see Bogut having a breakout year.
7. Portland- Oden finally takes the court
8. Clippers- yea, we sole brand and the lost Maggete, but maybe some new faces will spark this team.
Hey Jeremiah…
i get you….98-0…lol
but not gonna happen!
louiefernandez…they can go 98-0 (not possible) but they can try if you count sweeping they’re four playoff series…
but this is talking about the regular season…
No love for the warriors from anybody here.
Do you peaople really think the dubs take a huge stride backward. They lost a true leader, but made a few additions that spoke to the teams needs. Rebounding and defense, and getting to the line to slow the other team’s runs(which were too often for this W’s fan).
These things being considered, I do think the W’s win fewer games, but not much fewer…say 45 or 46, and get in with the #7 or #8 seed.
The Clippers? are you serious?
Denver….bye,bye.
Portland? still a year away!!!
No love, but that is fine. nellie thrives when he doesn’t have expectations.
Viva Los Dubz!!!!!
# 21, Milwaukee is in the east.
Wow, you think both the Clippers and Blazers will be better than Golden State?
Shoot, you think Milwaukee is better than GSW??? WTF???
obviosly first its gonna be the boston celtics
but peoplr dont seariosly think that the raptors arnt the second or third best team in the east with jermain oneil, maby only after the celtics and cavs
after that its detriot and the rest of the east is anyones guese
raptors could surprise alot of people
jermain oniel is a good adition to a young team already on the rise
and u cant forget bout the sixers
theyy will be fun to watch
Suprise team of the year. Golden State Warriors. Deep 1 through 10. Plus a new style. Their most talented teamn in 20 years. Key: If Nelson plays young Bigs they will go far. If not, gone fishin, and Nelson back to maui.

I can’t believe all of you guys are doubting that the Cliperrs can get into the playoffs. They lost Brand and Maggette, but they gained Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Brian Skinner, Steve Novak, Jason Hart, and Eric Gordon. They have experienced players and young players alike. Their bench is now solid, and their starting lineup might be better then the 05 lineup. If you count out the Clippers, you’ll all be surprised.

i really dont like kobe bryant. .chris paul 4 mvp…..maybe this season…kobe is very overrated….without pau gasol he cant win 57-25..i think hes requesting pau to be on playoffs.
chris paul rocks..i hope they have good trade that can challenged gasol
OK im tired of everyone counting out the mavs, the mavs are undoubtably better than the clippers, blazers, and the nuggets.
This is how i see it
EAST
1. Boston Celtics - No change, Bostons too good
2. Detroit Pistons - I see them Beign a force in the east for years to come
3. Clevland Cavilers - With the addition of Mo Williams, to help lebron they should do better
4. Orlando Magic - Didnt Do Much, but i mean dwight is good enough for a few wins by himself
5. Philidelphia 76ers - Elton Brand, need i say more?
6. Miami Heat - Dwayne Wade, Shawn Marion, and Michael Beasley are a lethal Combo.
7. Toronto Raptors - Theyll Make it
8. New Jersey Nets - theyll trade for anyone, lol but i think theyll be ok this year
West
1. LA Lakers - Kobe has proven in the past that the lakers are going to the play offs even if he has to do it by himself.
2. New Orleans Hornets - Chris Paul. MVP This season.
3. San Antonio Spurs - id bet this is thier last year to be a Dominate team
4. Dallas Mavericks - they have to be tired of have great seasons and then loosing in the playoffs in some sort of embarrising fashon
5. Utah Jazz - theyre a future dynasty in my way of thinking
6. Phoenix Suns - Ehh i could see shaq or steve nash playing anymore after this season
7.Portland Trail Blazers - Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, not to shabby
8.LA Clippers - Why not?
THE WEST GOES LIKE THIS.
1.LAKERS: WITH A HEALTHY BYNUM THEY ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE WEST. DEFENSE WILL BE THE KEY TO THEIR SUCCESS.
2. NO HORNETS: CHRIS PAUL IS ONE OF THE TOP POINT GUARDS IN THE GAME. HE STAYS HEALTHY. THEY WILL SEE SUCCESS.
3.PHO SUNS: SHAQ JUSTS MAKES THEM A MORE DEEPER TEAM. STEVE NASH WILL HAVE AN MVP TYPE SEASON.
4.JAZZ: DERON WILLIAMS IS A VERY GOOD POINT GUARD. KIRILENKO NEEDS TO STEP UP.
5.ROCKETS: IF TRACY AND YAO CAN STAY HEALTHY…THEY ARE TOUGH TO BEAT.
6,MAVERICKS: MORE CONSISTENCY FROM JOSH HOWARD AND ROLE PLAYERS SURRONDING DIRK. JASON TERRY SHOULD START AT THE 2 GUARD.
7.SPURS; TOO MANY HOLES OFFENSIVELY. THE KEY TO BEATING THEM IS THE CONTAINMENT OF TONY PARKER.
8. PORTLAND: A VERY YOUNG TEAM WITH ALOT OF TALENT. ADDING GREG ODEN MAKES THEM THE ABSOLUTE 8 SEED.
EAST.
1.CELTICS
2.PISTONS
3.MAGIC: CAN BE THE TWO SEED IF THEY PLAYED BETTER DEFENSE.
4.CAVALIERS: LEBRON NEEDS HELP IF THIS TEAM IS TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP.
5.WIZARDS. HEALTH IS AN ISSUE
6. HEAT: WADE AND BEASELY. ONLY MAN IN THE EAST THAT CAN GURAD HIM IS KG. BUT BEASELY CAN AND WILL TAKE HIM OFF THE DRIBBLE.
7.TORONTO RAPTORS
8.NETS
The Detroit Pistons are falling to the Cleveland Cavilers this year the Pistons are over the Cavilers are going seconded to Boston and will take them in the Ester Conference Finals on the way to become the NBA Champions. The Pistons are done if you didn‘t see that last year then you must be a Pistons fan. The Cavilers finished four after playing most of the year with half a team, what will happen when they have a healthy one. At half mass the Cavilers almost took down the Celtics and Lebron was not even much of a factor in the start of the series against them. Boston was lucky to get past Atlanta with an embarrassing 7 game series and it looked like they were not going to win a game on the road there for a minute. I don’t know about you but we are all seeing the same thing. Look it up, become educated!
I’m not sure with division all of the teams play in so this is just based on # of wins.

No love for the Rockets here. Don’t forget they won 55 games last year with key injuries. Even if they don’t stay healthy, they are a year better and and LITERALY 10 DEEP!!! 5. Yao, Mutombo, 4. Scola, Landry, 3. Artest, Battier, 2. TMac, Barry, 1. Alston, Francis. IMO, the entire second team are all LEGIT NBA starters. They can go big with a lineup of Yao, Scola, Battier, Artest, TMac/Barry. They can go small. Scola (Gave Dwight Howard fits in the olympics and manhandled Bosh), Artest at the 4, Battier, TMac, and Alston.
Then you put Brent barry on the floor with Scola. But you have to double team, TMac, Yao, and Artest. But at the same time most PF’s can’t play Scola 1 on 1 unless its Stoudamire or KG. All these guys have to be covered without leaving Brent Barry. Dilema Dilema.
WEST
1. Houston
2. L.A.
3. NOH
4. Utah
5. SAS
6. Suns
7. Dallas
8. Portland
EAST
1. Boston
2. Detroit
3. Mia (DWade is obviously back)
4. Orlando
5. Cleveland
6. Toronto
7. Philly
8. Wizards
If healthy, Yao will wear Chandler out. He straight up owned him last year. Artest and Scola can both bang with West. Stick Battier on Peja, and TMac on Posey. Raefer and Steve take turns on CP# but he still dominates with 25 and 12 a night so we have no answer for him. But NOH has no answer either. I always say, if you wanna kick some, you gotta bring some. That means… that’s a good offensive lineup you put up. But they gotta guard Houston on the other end too.
Chris Paul can stick Alston, maybe Francis too, but if we put Barry at the point CP3 is too small
Peja cannot stick TMac or Artest 1 on 1
Posey can stick TMac 1 on 1 but not Artest
West can stick Scola 1 on 1 MAYBE
Tyson cannot stick Yao 1 on 1
The way I see it, at least 2 guys on the court have to be double teamed at all times, your best defender Posey can’t leave TMac, so let’s do the math. That leaves 2 people open and at least 1 mismatch at all times. NOH has a very talented roster. But the NBA is about matchups. Houston gives them matchup problems.
Not to mention, where’s the bench? Houston will throw Mutombo, Landry, Battier, Barry, and Francis in all off the bench. Not as dominant as the starting 5 but each is a role player. Francis can get in the lane, Mutombo anchors the defense, landry hussles and rebounds, Battier plays D and hits 3’s, Barry spreads the floor. I like Houston’s chances.
Then we can really go buck wild and go big putting Artest on CP3, TMac running the point but sticking Peja, Battier locking down Posey, Scola banging with West, and Yao owning Chandler.
all i can say is the hornet-era will be dominant and get their 1st ever championship…..chris paul, david west, peja stojakovic, james posey and tyson chandler
all i can say is the hornet-era will be dominant and get their 1st ever championship…..chris paul, david west, peja stojakovic, james posey and tyson chandler
finals boston vs hornets
East:
1.Celtics: Defense is just to darn good
2. Pistons: Very consistent team Billups injury last playoffs hurt them
3.Washington: Lets not 4get Habachi is healthy and they did have a great run last year
4.Raptors: I see jermaine Oneal Helping them alot if can stay healthy
5.Heat: Am I the only one who saw D-Wade kill in the Olympics Addin Beasley and Marion who does it all= A problem
6.Cavaliers:Didn’t do much to improve except addin Mo Williams look for Lebron to have quite a load to carry
7.Orlando: They key to beating them is to foul Howard he shot god awful in the olympics
8.Bulls: Still doesn’t have a go to guy, but rose will definitely add more wins to get them in the playoffs
West
1.Phoenix: A full season with Shaq even if he is on the decline is problems, Stoudemire will be a MVP Candidate this year and Steve Nash might not be the best point guard in the league anymore but he still is top 3 along with alot of the off season moves there bench is deep.
2.Lakers: Lets just say that Bynum is back but will kill the chemistry the team had without him but they still have the”Mamba” and thats a problem 4 all 29 teams but I wouldn’t count my chicken early that bynum will return to last season form it was a knee injury.
3. Spurs: Another consistent team like thje pistons with a great lineup with everyone knowing there roles, and with there experience makes them dangerous
4.Houston: They are set to be a very defensive minded team with the likes of battier and artest and if yao and t-mac can stay healthy they can pose problems for any team.
5. New Orleans: I can’t be convinced off 1 great season they will have to do it again for me to be convinced. Chris Paul is the best point guard but can his supporting cast play at the same level
6.Utah: They dropped because Carlos Boozer played horrible to me in the olympics he looke the worse out of the bunch, but they do have a hall of fame coach and they are very good at home, the spotlight is on deron can he deliver
7.Clippers: I feel like this team will surprise alot of you guys with what they are putting together and if they land a sf with some experience look for them to get in at this spot.
8.Dallas
1. Lakers WEST EAST 1. Celtics
2. Hornets 2. Magic
3. Spurs 3. Pistons
4. Jazz 4. Caveliers
5. Rockets 5. Hawks
6. Clippers 6. Wizards
7. Suns 7. 76ers
8. Mavericks 8. Raptors
MVP: Chris Paul Hands Down
Coach of the Year: Stan Van Gundy
Rookie of the Year: Derrik Rose
Sixth Man: Sasha Vujachich
Defensive Player of the Year: Shane Battier
Dallas will be fighting for 8th seed along with Denver and Portland and maybe Golden State
1. LAKERS (68-14):the best team in the west and best in the nba with fish kobe odom gasol bynum a very good bench, best in nba
2. NO( 61-21): paul, west, peja, chandler and a legit bench now that posey has been added to the mix
3.UTAH(56-26): deron and boozer add up as a great 1-2 punch and okur and ak 47 add are the sidekicks.
4.SAN ANTONIO(52-30): this team is old ……. VERY VERY OLD need to do a better job in the 2009 offseason of getting younger and more talented players.
5.PORTLAND(48-34): this team is loaded and i mean LOADED with youth talent and a mix of experience.
6.HOUSTON: (48-34) mcgrady Yao artest and if stevie francis can get healthy this team can be scary good and they could be all the way up to even 2nd if those 4 are healthy the whole season
7..Phoenix (45-37) they countinue to fall and they are not going to get any better anytime soon
8.LA CLIPPERS (44-38): shows how team can improve that much by a terrific offseason baron davis, camby, ricky willams, jason williams etc….
1. BOSTON( 60-22): the have one of the best trios in nba with pierce, garnett, and allen and a good bench
2. DETROIT(54-28): not going to get any better not going to get any worse just good team overall
3. RAPTORS (53-29): great offseason with trading ford for oneal and if they remaine healthy they could contend in the east and the nba
4.phily (52-30):andre, elton, and andre they will pair up to be very dynamic
orlando(52-30): Dwight howard, hedo, rashard lewis, and nelson are a good core of players but they will make it as far as the second round
. Cleveland(50-32): with the acquistation of mauirce williams helps james but they NEED another good scorer…. wally could just be that guy also and of james wally and mauirce play well with each other and individually they could actually beat out orlando for the 4th spot.
7.bucks ( 44-38): great offseason of getting jeffferson and ridnour this team will be good
8. washington (42-40): they score alot but can’t defend much
Ok kj, Houston wins 22 in a row and 55 games overall with a banged up TMac, no Steve Francis, no yao. Add a healthy Yao, healthy TMac, healthy Francis, Battier is back, add Artest, Luis Scola, Skip to my lou, Brent Barry, Carl Landry, and this is a 48 win squad to you huh? Even if two of the names i mentioned miss significant time, they are still a top 4 team. If none of these guys miss significant time, only the lakers and maybe the hornets can match up. MAYBE.
HEY!!, message to pretty much all of you…stop putting teams of the same division in the top 3, the top 3 must be the 3 division winners, meaning not the sixers AND celtics, good try tho.
East:
1.Boston- good offense, awesome defense, same triple threat.
2.Toronto- amazing front court with Bosh and O’neal.
3.Detroit-good as always, Kwame might have his first good season.
4.Orlando-Same as last year but with a more experienced Howard.
5.Cleveland - Williams might help some but not much.
6.Phili- If Elton Brand stays healthy then they could move up to third.
7.Miami - Incredibly fast team with Wade, Marion, Beasly.
8. Washington- If Arenas is healthy they could move up.
West:
1.Houston- they have the best team in the NBA even better than the Celtics. with addition of Artest ,healthy Yao and Mcgrady.
2. LA Lakers- They will be more dangerous with having Gasol from the begining.
3.New Orleans- Good addition with Posey
4.Utah- Good as always
5.Pheonix- Stoudamire-Shaq-Nash.
6.LA Clippers- Exelent aquisitions this summer
7.Dallas-Josh Howard will be better this year
8.Portland- Greg Oden will be rookie of the year, with a more experienced team.
EAST
Washington - very talented, need to be healthy
1) Boston - cooled off a bit (and lost Posey) but still great
2) Detroit - better coach who’s bringing the “D” back; Stuckey is 6th man
3) Orlando - solid team, more experienced
4) Toronto - good team with great shooters and an improved frontcourt
5) Philly - holy frontcourt (trade?) athletic, talented and young… and Brand
6) Cleveland - still good, but Mo Williams isn’t enough for LeBron
7) Hawks - still decent, need defense
The Pistons will outplay Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals and take the title over the winner of L.A. - New Orleans (I hope the Hornets).

east
1.Boston celtics: the big three proved last year that they can win a championship and with a year of playing together they’ll be on top of the east again there bench might not be as strong but i see darius miles having a big role for this team
2.Cleavlad: Every year lebron gets better and better with the addition of mo williams i think that will take cleavland to be one of the most feared teams in the nba
3.Orlando magic: Dwight howard is a beast and will dominate the inside game this year with turgolu and lewis uspporting his thye will be unstoppable if there on there game and jj redick should get the time he deserves this year because he is one of the best 3 point shooters in the nba
4.Toronto raptors:with adding jermaine o’neil and having bosh they will dominate downlow and this will allow bosh to be more free and with jose running the offense and shooters all around they will make it past the first round this year
5.76ers:brand will help there low post game and dalembert can now concentrate on blocking shots and offensife rebounds if igouldala improves like he does every season this team can be dangerous come playoff time
6.Pistions” pistons will be same pistions as usual watch for stuckey to have a good year
7.wizards: if they can manage to play like they did last season without areanas in there lineup then they will make the play offs and when he gets back(healty) they will have there best player back
8. MIami heat”dwayne wade looked back to 100% in the olympics he will have a huge year beasley so far looks like he will be second option and will be a beast downlow marion will help them out alot to
West
1.lakers: Kobe bryant is the only thing you need to say and with him the lakers will be on top again and with bynum and gasol downlow shooters all around lakers will have another trmendous season
2.Hornets: thye have the best point guard in the league they added one of the best defenders in james posey and david west is an excellent scorer not to mention peja hsooting touch
3.Denver nuggets: now alot of you may not agree woth this one but ill tell you why i think they will be 3rd from what ive seen there defense has gotten alot bettereven with the loss of camby carmelo will have a break out mvp caliber season this year along with iverson, nene will be the center they need and they have the two best 6th man in the league in kleiza and jr smith
4.Houston: tracy mcgrady will make it out of the first round this year and yao healty they can make it alot further then that with artest defense on the star player evey night they will do very good this season
5.suns:amare will be this teams allstar along with steve nash only thing conserns me is what happens to this team if one of those guys go down if they stay healthy that includeds shaq they will be one of the most high offensive teams in the league
6.jazz: deron williams is second best point guard in the league and will help his team win some games
7.spurs: tim duncan wont let his team not make the playoffs but ginobli injury wont let them be on top of the west
8.Portland: oden will be the hange for why they make the playoffs this season with bradon roy playing like he did last year and aldrige playing pf this is the young big 3 of the league
mvp: lebron james
MIP: kevin duran(will have a breakout year)
DPY:kevin garnett
