Okay that is a big stretch but the Toronto Raptors did add the last piece to this year’s team on Monday (assuming there are no trades).
In order to fill their final roster spot, the Raptors once again dipped into the Euro pool and got a player with a history of winning overseas kind of like they did with AP a few years ago.
His name is Will Solomon and he is a 30-year-old guard who has been playing in Europe for the past six seasons.
GM Bryan Colangelo broke it down like this.
He’s played at a very high level in Europe for a number of years and has always been a winner.
Solomon does have some NBA experience. He spent a season with Memphis and is coming off a solid Euroleague season with Fenerbahce, where he averaged 17.9 points and 3.9 assists in 21 games.
As long as he is a hard worker, does not complain about playing time and lets Calderon know his favourite kind of Gatorade, all will be good.
I know I have said this more than once but Solomon is another name I am happy that Swirsky won’t get his hands on.
If you would like more details on what this signing says about the Raptors you can check out today’s post over at The Arsenalist.
Khandor’s Sports Blog has a list of what the Raptors player roster now looks like.
