This is a guest post by Kellex from The Sports Dollar. Each week he will share some tips and industry news to help improve your sports blogs.

What’s goin’ on Cuzoogle faithfuls! My buddy Cuzzy has asked me to stop by once a week and give you guys some “Loose Change” on what we have going on over at the Sports Dollar. You know, some hot tips on how you can make that sports blog really pop!

Here are a couple of social media nickels to get you through the week…

Turn Stumble Upon into your personal traffic machine.

If you take 10 minutes out of your day, find 5 new die hard sports nuts through Stumble Upon and friend them, you will soon have the potential to grab at least 700+ targeted visitors every time you Stumble something on your blog.

The key here is to have them friend you right back. How can you do that? Simple! Just let them know how great their Stumbles are and that they’ve just been added to your friends list.

Ever had a Ballhype post show immediately on the front page?

It is possible! The biggest tip I can give you here is to submit mainstream media sports articles on a daily basis that you know will grab the attention of major BallHype players. Browse ESPN, Yahoo Sports and the New York Times for the hottest sports stories of the day. Submit those stories before your counterparts and they are guaranteed to get links and hypes. Once you’ve done this enough times, your post portfolio will have enough credibility to get even the smallest blog post straight to the front page with as little as 2 votes! You can get more tips like this from our Sports Blogger’s Guide to Ballhype.

BlogBurst pays in straight PayPal Cash!

Ever heard of a site called BlogBurst? This is one of the newest services to spread the word of your sports blog to major media outlets including Reuters, Chicago Sun Times and NBA.com. Oh, and they pay quarterly bonuses for their top 100 blogs with the top dog taking home $1500. Is that motivation enough to check them out?
