Jose Calderon talkin about the what ifs

As you all know Jose Calderon was injured and could not play in the Gold Medal game against the Redeem Team. It was a much closer game than I thought it would be and Calderon leading the point would of helped. Now he is playing a game of the “what ifs” and does not seem to accept the USA is better.
On Calderon’s personal blog, he was a little coy about the topic, going only so far as to say, “Now is not the time to discuss the referees, injuries, absences…” However, on news site El Mundo, he aired his opinion a little more clearly in the Olympic blog he maintained for the site.
(Please note that this translation is a combination of my rudimentary Spanish knowledge and that of google’s translator service)
“This is not the time to speak of officiating, but I think with the FIBA rules we would have won. That is why we are a little annoyed, because we were right there at the finish line and we have just missed out.”
Maybe he has a beef but it is so pointless to go back and say that different variables could of changed the outcome. Of course it could but that is why the games are played and not just listed on paper.
The American team was on a mission, were hungry and were not going to lose to anyone so I don’t think it mattered what the rules were or who was calling the game.
Sounds like Chris Bosh and Jose Calerdon will have something to argue about all season long other than what kind of offensive play did Sam Mitchell really just ask for.
