Every Wednesday Cuzoogle will feature The Seven which is a list of whatever we feel like. Submit your seven on whatever theme you want today and it will be posted in the coming weeks.
The other day I was reading RaptorBlog and Scott started a great thread that is very important to us at Cuzoogle.
What should be the intro song for the 2008-2009 Toronto Raptors games?
Music is vital to setting the stage and amping up the crowd so we decided to give our two cents on this one. Check out the comments section of Scott’s post, there are some great suggestions like Maestro Fresh Wes-Let Your Backbone Slide (the warm up song I I had in high school).
Here are seven we think would fire up the ACC crowd and have the visitors wishing they did not cross the border.
1. Right Here, Right Now (Fat Boy Slim)
For those of you who remember, the Sixers used to use this several years ago in the playoffs and it gave me chills.
2. Fire Starter (The Prodigy)
Nothing gets the asses out of the seats like this song. It is only too bad there can’t be clips of Rasho to go with it.
3. Anything from Gladiator (fight scenes of course)
Yep not very original but it really gets the blood pumping. The Raps just need Maximus to lead them to VICTORY.
4. She Sells Sanctuary (The Cult)
Pick the right 30-40 seconds of this song and it will blow the roof off the place.
5. C’mon C’mon (The Von Bondies)
Okay I know it is the theme song for Rescue me but it could work.
6. The Pretender (Foo Fighters)
Again use it just before it rocks out and it could set a great mood with fire works etc.
7. Renegades of Funk (Rage Against the Machine)
Yes they used this briefly two seasons ago and it was the best song they ever had. Go back to it.
No doubt a popular R&B song will get chosen, one that has already had it’s day in the sun and we will be forced to hear it 41 plus times this year. Oh well, it was worth a try.
What is your suggestion?
