2008-2009 NBA prediction thread - Ups & downs

October is here and while most of you are thinking baseball, those who love the NBA are getting ready for a season that is less than one month away. We have been getting a pulse of what you all think for many weeks now with several ongoing prediction threads and today we want to add one more.

Give us five teams that are on the way up and five that are on the way down. With all of the big offseason deals and signings, there could be a shift in power, so who is going to be left out on the outside looking in?

We will start you off with our list.

Five on the way up

Portland Trail Blazers
Miami Heat
Philadelphia 76ers
Indiana Pacers
Utah Jazz

Five on the way down

Dallas Mavericks
Phoenix Suns
Detroit Pistons
San Antonio Spurs
Washington Wizards

Going up - Portland, Philly, Orlando, Oklahoma City and Minnesota.

Going down (like yo’ mama) - Golden State, Detroit, Denver and Boston & the Lakers (relatively speaking).

Going abso-fucking-lutely nowhere - Memphis, Charlotte, New Jersey and Milwaukee.

Then there’s the Raps. I have some feelings about ‘em, but this isn’t the proper site to be all negative on Sam’s crew.

T-Roc it is okay, let it loose, a lot of us Raps fans prolly have the same feelings.

Not sure Utah can get much further. This will likely be their last shot if Boozer leaves town - something he’s totally familiar with.

I’d add GSW to the ‘going down’ as well. No BD, no monta for the first half. Trouble.
