This is a guest post by Kellex from The Sports Dollar. Each week he will share some tips and industry news to help improve your sports blogs.
Timing of Your Posts is a Big Deal
When we talk about breaking news, we are basically telling you to predict the future and we all know that is impossible. But one thing you can do is focus on big time topics and release a post on them at specific times. Some examples could be, releasing your fantasy injury report first thing Sunday morning, or your NFL power rankings Tuesday morning. These are peak times for people to jump to Google for a quick search; make sure your material is already there.
Want a Free Review or Interview?
There are sites all over the place that are willing to dish out free interviews or reviews for you and your website. This is exposure people! You should care about this! Check out sites like Untwisted Vortex and Sports Tech Now to submit your info and get yourself some free lovin’.
Create Yourself a Daily Schedule
Keeping yourself on task can be extremely difficult. Think about all of the little things you do in a day that affect your blog. You Stumble, Digg, chat, write, promote, Hype, read, eat, and read even more. Instead of looking at your day as some sort of jumbled mess, maybe you should create a schedule. Only allow yourself 15 minutes to Digg in the morning with maybe another 15 minutes in the afternoon. Your productivity could make or break your long term success.
