A paleontologist whose beachfront home in Texas was destroyed during hurricane Ike has since found a enormous fossil in the debris. What it turned out to be may surprise you. It was actually an NBA player.

Dorothy Sisk and Jim Westgate are scientists at Lamar University and after closer inspection they discovered the fossil in the front yard of Sisk’s home in Caplen was actually Jerome James of the New York Knicks.

The fossil somehow made it from New York City all the way to Texas despite the weight of the lofty contract it had attached to it.

After the couple took a closer look they decided the fossil looked like a giant basketball player. After calling around to teams to see if any were missing, the Knicks finally admitted that James in fact was not at training camp.

James is expected to be sent back to New York very soon. Sadly the Knicks were hoping that was one player they could take of the salary cap this year.

If only there was a hurricane with enough power to carry away Eddy Curry, the Knicks would be in business.

This is of course a fake story based on this true story. Unfortunately for New York, there is nothing fake about how much they still suck.
