Golden State at Toronto, Raps favored by 7.5, total set at 206.5

As much fun as Wednesday night was seeing the opening game, tonight will be even better with the home opener and getting to see the crowd at the ACC once again. Other than the obvious lack of rebounding the other night, it was a success and most of the new pieces made people feel a little better.

Tonight there is a track meet brewing with the high scoring Golden State Warriors in town and if memory serves us correct, the last time Corey Maggette played the Raps on a Friday night, it was ugly.

Looking to bounce back from an opening loss, the Warriors kick off a three-game road tonight at the Air Canada Centre.

Golden State led New Orleans by a point with 28 seconds left on Wednesday. But the Warriors failed to stop the Hornets’ Chris Paul, who had the go-ahead layup with 19.4 seconds to play en route to a 108-103 loss.

Stephen Jackson played all 48 minutes and had 26 points, including five 3-pointers. Corey Maggette  scored 27 in his Golden State debut.

Back to the Raps. Jermaine O’Neal looked pretty good in the opener and scored 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.

Golden State has won nine of the last 12 meetings between the two teams, but the Raptors have split the past four home games with the Warriors.

It should be a wide open game and hopefully the Raps can do a better job on the boards. With the likes of Harrington and Biedrins crashing the boards for the Warriors it could become frustating to watch.

At least there is no Monta Ellis to blow by people all night.

Expect a high scoring game that will go over the total and the Raptors to win in front of the home fans. We were pretty negative in picking the Raps to lose the other night so it is time to try a little optimism.

JK as Matt Devlin clearly loves to call Kapono, looks great and should really thrive with the new-look Raps.
