Toronto 91, Milwaukee 87, Raps cover, game goes under

Thank God we got to see that game in HD for the first time on the new TV because that was the only way it made the Raptors win pretty to watch. The Raps and Bucks played a game that was about as ugly to watch as those red jerseys that Milwaukee was wearing. Regardless, the Raptors are 3-0 to start the season and everyone in Raptors nation is sticking the chest out a little bit today and feeling good about being in first place in the Atlantic (even if it is less than a week into the season).

So far this season the glaring difference in this team over last season’s is the confidence that have when things start to go bad. Toronto has always been good at getting leads but even better at folding in crunch time and not being able to handle the pressure. In the last two wins, they have fallen into that same trap but this time they are doing what they have to in order to win. Love it!

Friday night it was Andrea Bargnani and AP coming up huge when it counted and last night Jose Calderon stuck a three late to seal a win. As we said, not pretty but when you win on a night you don’t play well, that is a what a good team does.

Charlie V did not go off, Andrew Bogut got going way too late and Michael Redd was floating as usual in this one.

Two more huge changes on the floor is the Raptors now have interior D with O’Neal blocking shots and taking people to the floor. Sure he fouled out but he adds a swagger that has been lacking for many years. Rasho, we love yah dude but you never did that for us.

The second thing, Jamario Moon is hitting jumpers and when it counts. Last year we hid under the couch every time he jacked one up and this season we almost expect it to go in.

With the clock falling back it was great to get to enjoy that extra hour of being in first. Now a real test comes on Wednesday with the Pistons coming up next. Can it be possible to go 4-0? Wowsers that would be about as crazy as John McCain winning on Tuesday.
