A few weeks ago I got the rare chance to do some background work in a movie that was being shot in Halifax. The scene called for a guy walking his dog in the background and of course that is the role I was born to play. I can walk and I have a dog. The day was a lot of fun and it opened my eyes to the world of extras and the bizarre subculture it is. I ate well and heard many tall tales of movies that other extras had worked on.

It made my think of one of my favourite shows, Extras, that was created my Ricky Gervais. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend checking it out. After my experience as an extra, I can confirm that the show is right on the money when it comes to what sets are like when you work in the background.

In honour of that day, here are seven clips from the TV show that I could watch over and over again.
