As much as we don’t want to look back to that embarrassing loss in Atlanta on Friday night, one good thing did come out of the mix. We tried out a new burger recipe for dinner that in the end had everyone at Cuzoogle happy and full. It had spice, taste and enough size to easily push Moon around on the wing. Good thing the Raptors don’t have to guard dishes like this one.

Since it has been forever since we posted a recipe, it seemed fitting that this kick ass burger would be a good meal to use to get back in the habit of sharing dinner ideas. We are pretty sure that adding the Food Network to our cable package will only spur us on to post more recipes soon, so for those who enjoy them you are in luck.

Here is the easy to follow recipe that Sam Mitchell may consider starting very soon. At the very least this simple meal will make any Raptors game night a success no matter how bad our favourite team plays on the court.

Brew Burgers

Makes 6 burgers

Ingredients:

* Oil to sauté
* 2 1/2 lb. of ground beef
* 1 x onion, diced
* 3 x jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced
* 6 cloves of garlic, chopped
* 2 tbsp thyme, dried (30ml)
* 1 tbsp oregano, dried (15ml)
* 1 x egg
* 1 bottle stout beer
* 1/4 cup parsley, chopped (60ml)
* 1 tsp of salt (5ml)
* 1 tsp of black pepper (5ml)

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion, jalapeno peppers, garlic, thyme and oregano until onions are translucent (about 3 minutes).

2. In a large bowl, stir together ground beef, onion mixture and egg, blend thoroughly. Slowly stir in stout beer. Add parsley, celery salt and black pepper and mix well.

3. Preheat grill to 375°F. (We used a skillet on medium heat but I bet you figure it out.)

4. Form meat into 6 patties. Place on grill and cook, turning until well-done throughout (about 8-10 minutes per side).

We also whipped up some roasted tators to go with it and they are very simple as well.

1. Chop up the potatoes into wedges.

2. In a bowl, mix the tators with olive oil and some onion soup mix.

3. Put it all in a roasting dish/pan and cook at 450 degrees for 45 minutes.

As you can see, there were nosey visitors in the kitchen during the whole process.

Here is how the whole dinner turned out. Have a good one all.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.
