Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat
As well as Chris Bosh played against the Magic last night, I would prefer if he does not have to do that every night. Can someone else step up and provide some help against the Heat? Miami will be a better team on their home court so if the Raps turn it over 400 times like they did on Tuesday, I don’t see how it can end well.
Bosh was amazing with 40 points and 18 boards and was kicking and fighting until the very end. If only he could bottle that energy and pass it around like Calderon passes around Gatorade, the team would be okay. JO was solid on D and on the boards but foul trouble took him out of the game in the second half.
A lot of the problems can be solved if Calderon can play. His court smarts and overall calmness is needed badly as at times last night Will Solomon was falling apart.
I have low expectations for tonight’s game and to be honest I am not liking the makeup of this team so far this year. Are they any better than they were before all of the offseason moves? I am not so sure.
Here is everything you need to know for tonight.
- The Heat look to avoid a sixth straight loss to the Raptors.
- The Heat return home, looking to improve their 4-1 record in Miami. They have held opponents to just 87.0 points at home compared to 99.5 on the road.
- Miami is hoping to continue that defensive domination against the Raptors. The Heat lost both home games against Toronto last season by an average of 28.5 points. Before that, Miami had won five in a row there against the Raptors by an average of 10.6 points.
- Chris Bosh is averaging 26.6 points in 2008-09, and 32.3 in the last three games.
- The Raptors were shooting 59 percent midway through the second half Tuesday, but finished shooting just 43.8 percent for the game. They also committed a season-high 24 turnovers after making 20 against the Heat.
- The Raptors averaged the second-fewest turnovers last season (11.7), but has seen that figure rise to 15.2 this season.
- Bosh had 27 points to lead seven Toronto players in double figures in Sunday’s win over the Heat. Wade scored 29.
For bettors
- Under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Miami.
- Raptors are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
- Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Miami.
- Under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings.
Prediction
I was almost perfect with last night’s call so I feel confident. If Calderon does not play, Miami is going to win 92-82 and if Jose does play, the Heat will still win but the score will be 103-99.
