****THIS CONTEST HAS CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS****
Opinions needed, a great prize to be given
It has been just over a week since the relaunch of Cuzoogle and we have to say it has been an amazing success. Many of you commented and told us how much you like the new look and we could not be more happy. After all, the success of a blog is having happy readers who come back everyday. On that note it is time to make our readers (you!) even more happy with a great contest where you don’t have to do that much to win an awesome prize.
This is partly to say thank you for being such great supporters and to also help spread the word about the brotherhood of basketball. We have been posting about a new campaign from adidas called The Brotherhood for a few weeks now and really believe it is more than shoes, clothing and who is wearing it. Basketball is a culture just like any other group of people who are passionate about what they do or the sport they play.
We want to pick your brain and find out what you think about several things but before you feel like a test coming on, don’t worry, there are no wrong answers and to make it even better we have a prize to give out thanks to the good people at adidas.
The contest is free and pretty simple to enter and all you have to do is express your opinion. Easy!
So here we go.
What you need to know
- As we said, answer freely, there is no wrong answer.
- If you win, you don’t have to worry about shipping.
- Your personal info will never be used for anything but this contest.
- It is meant to be fun so please try to keep it that way.
- The prize is brand new and just how you would get it at the store.
- This contest will run from today, Nov. 20 until Nov. 28 at 5pm ET.
- Enter as much as you want but only one entry per email address.
So if you want, please answer some quick questions before getting to the main event. A chance to win a Chris Bosh swingman jersey.
Questions to get you warmed up
The adidas campaign is split into two types of players.
1. The Creators (T-Mac, Gilbert Arenas, Chauncey Billups) are guys who play with speed and style.
2. The Commanders (Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard) are guys who control the paint.
Pretty easy so far eh? Feel free to skip to the bottom to find out how to win the Bosh jersey but we really appreciate your input.
If you want to see some of the ads or read more about the brotherhood, you can find it all here.
Done!
Thank you very much for your answers. Now, finally here is how to win the sweet Chris Bosh jersey.
We want you to tell us in your own words what the slogan Basketball is a Brotherhood means to you.
In the comments section below let it rip no matter what your stance is on the subject. We will gather up all the submissions and get those who know the campaign the best to pick five they really like.
Then it will be time to vote. Sound good? It seems only right that the you, the people decide who the winner should be. After five entries are chosen there will be five days of voting and then a winner will be crowned.
That lucky person will get a wicked prize pack of a Chris Bosh swingman jersey and a coupon for 40% off any purchase in the adidas online store!
Make sure you enter an email address that we can contact you at and we will be in touch if you are chosen as a finalist. It would also be super if you subscribe to our RSS feed and check us out every day!
Time to hear what you have to say and thank you so much from everyone at Cuzoogle and adidas.

basketball is a brotherhood….its a campaign all about trying to get bigots to stop hating on white/euro ballers.the rest of the world has accepted the globalization of the game but the don cherrys of the ball world havent….one blood, the brotherhood.
Basketball is a brotherhood - does that exclude women?
Carolyns last blog post..We Forgot To Win Last Night
Great question Carolyn. Maybe is it like the term “mankind”?
We at Cuzoogle would never exclude women :-).
Basketball is a brotherhood….is riding the bus with your teammates on some long ass trip to play in the middle of nowhere. 20 years after nobody will remember the outcome but everyone will remember the friendship and the time spent on the bus.
It means that a bunch of 40+ ballers can get together twice a week to play pick-up bball and just play for fun without anyone getting on each other’s case because we all know how our bodies sometimes do not respond like they used to when we were in our 20’s.
Basketball is a Brotherhood to me, means that a group of your closest friends can get drunk and go play [read=dominate] your college’s intramural basketball league. Every pre-game we took practice, ahem (lame pun coming…) shots and then proceeded to, well, drain and let it rain down.
To this day, I still wear my ratty championship t-shirt with pride.

Basketball is a brotherhood is a reference to the age-old adage that blood is thicker than water, and since basketball runs in every ball-players veins (and arteries), we are all brothers (and sisters).
Basketball is a brotherhood is a reference to the state of kinship shared by an association of like-minded basketball warriors profoundly bonded by the crucible of going to battle in the greatest game on earth.
(bring on the playoffs!)
Basketball is a brotherhood means that through it all, your teammates are your family. It truly is the definition of a team sport. You have to trust every person on your team to achieve greatness as a team. There will be many highs and lows over the course of a season, but the confidence and bonds that you form with your peers is what makes a good team a great team.
Basketball is a Brotherhood… To me it means that like any team sport or job that relies on teamwork for that matter, that without a complete consensus amongst teammates/work colleagues and a very real and true sense of being my brother’s keeper in every sense of the word that no team or rather very rarely will a team succeed to the ultimate prize which is a championship. If there is even 1 negative person in the team (in the sense that the team can never be on the same page) then the brotherhood will fall apart and the team will never succeed. This can be translated to any arena, be it work, sport, family, etc…
Basketball is a Brotherhood….To me it means that regardless of what stage you are at in life, what sports you play, what job you do, success and all that comes with it begins with teamwork, and strong teams inevitably form a brotherhood.
Basketball is a Brotherhood - an endeavor shared by a group of people of all races, religions, creeds, colours, and genders (women can be “brothers” too) - one that defies boundaries. A brotherhood where the weakest links can still be integral components in the whole, uplifted by their stronger brethren. A Brotherhood that revels in both gracefulness and power, creativity and commanding presence. Basketball is a Brotherhood - five individuals forming (like Voltron) to unite as one to achieve one goal - victory.
Basketball is a brotherhood, and I’m proud to be part of the family.
Basketball is a Brotherhood is in reference to the idea that it’s OK to slap another man’s ass. There is a bond between young men that while sweaty and half naked, should never be crossed. But basketball’s brotherhood allows that line to be broken.

Basketball is a brotherhood because no matter where you live or what you own you can always play the best game in the world.

Basketball is very much like brotherhood. It brings together players of all ages and ethnicities regardless of skill and/or talent. Fans or players of the game are passionate and will always stick up for each other on the court and help each other out. You can see this at the end of most games where regardless of win or lose, many players gather for a moment of thanks.

Basketball is a brotherhood…because it is more than just the game on the hardwood.
It is the trips with your teammates to your favorite Mexican restaurant before every game (even if that means leaving school a little early).
It is the bus rides through the mountains to a destination of rednecks, bigots, and racists and knowing that even though only a few of your fans will be there, each of your teammates has your back no matter what goes down.
It is the campouts and parties that you don’t remember all of but will never forget.
It is the laughter and cutting up in the locker room before the game and the tears in the same locker room after the end of the inevitable final game.
And lastly, basketball is a brotherhood because of those 32, 40, or 48 minutes where you take the court with the fans pressing down atop you, breathing down your neck, and screaming everything they can at you all while you and your teammates know something those opposing fans don’t…that you will win.

Basketball is a brotherhood. All 5 players on the floor need to grow and mature as players to be successful. If one brother has a hard time, he need the others to motivate and build him back up for success. All the dynasties of the NBA, Bird’s Celtics, Jordan’s Bulls, the Bad Boy Pistons, could not be as successful as they were if they had not treated each other with respect, as one brother would do for another. Through good times and hard times, championships and injuries, a team must stick together to be successful. That is the true meaning of a brotherhood.
Pat Mcdonalds last blog post..25 reasons why Cuzoogle is thankful
Basketball is a brotherhood. It simply means that if there is no teamwork, communication, and fun, basketball does not work. When a sport becomes a brotherhood, it means that the entire team, and the coach, come together as one and enjoy the game of basketball like it was meant to be. There is no negativity but instead positive criticism. A brotherhood means being teammates on and off the court.
This Adidas slogan is only a motivator for kids and teens. I highly doubt that Dwight Howard, T-Mac, Duncan, and the rest of the Adidas team actually consider them selves brothers with each other. It is a positive motivator for younger players though.

basketball is a brotherhood. It is a journey you take with your second family towards the promised land. As brothers, you may bicker and compete for attention, but you are loyal to each other. Their pain is your pain, their gain is your gain. Sweat, struggle, strive; in the end, help your brother’s boat across and your own will reach the shore
