Toronto Raptors at New Jersey Nets, Nets -3.5, total 207

Well now that we all feel better for beating a pretty bad Pacers team, time to move forward and win two straight. Standing in the way is that giant penis, Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets. The Nets are playing pretty well and Devin Harris is one of the biggest stories of the season to date. The Raps need to watch that play where Vince dunked on them to win a few weeks ago……..watch it again……and then watch it again. They need to come out angry and get revenge for that loss. Can J-Killa have two stand out games in a row for the Raps? We shall see.

Here is everything you need to know about tonight’s game.

The Goods

  • Jason Kapono had a season-high 25 points and Chris Bosh added 21 points and 10 rebounds in a comfortable 101-88 win over the Pacers.
  • Anthony Parker is still listed as day-to-day.
  • The best game of Bosh’s season - and perhaps his career - came last month at home against the Nets when he scored 42 points. Andrea Bargnani scored a career-high 29 and Jose Calderon had 26 points and 15 assists.
  • Vince Carter is averaging 24.6 points against his former team.
  • Devin Harris is averaging 24.8 points, and has reached the 30-point mark seven times after not doing it at all in his first four seasons.
  • The Nets allow 103.3 ppg, second-most in the East behind the Knicks.
  • Since scoring a season-high 127 against New Jersey in November, Toronto has averaged 95.6 points in its last nine games.

For Bettors

  • Under is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings in New Jersey.
  • Under is 25-10 in the last 35 meetings.
  • Home team is 11-5-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings.
  • Raptors are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in New Jersey.
  • Underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

Prediction

Even taking into account the Pacers are not exactly a good team, the Raps showed signs of life last night. The bench produced and short of Andrea Bargnani looking like ass, the team played real well. Maybe they are finally catching up with all of the changes and are ready to make a turn for the better. Or maybe I am drunk? Either way I am going to pick the Raps to surprise and win in the swamp. Final score 97-90 for the Raps. Better hit the publish button before I change my mind.
