New Jersey Nets at Toronto Raptors, Raps -4.5, total is 203

Sure yesterday’s game was a letdown but New Orleans is a good team and it is not the end of the world to lose to them. The Raps showed moments of solid play and if they could of limited the three ball a little better, they could of had a shot at winning. The key for the Raps is beating the teams they are expected to beat and that will be the case tonight at the ACC. New Jersey is back in town and if Friday night’s blowout win against the Nets is any indication, the Raps should post a win once again. Jay Triano is pulling the right strings in getting better play out of the likes of Moon and Graham, while slowly making defense the backbone of the team. Tonight is big because they got the Mavs on Wednesday and then hit the road for another brutal stretch.

Here is everything you need to know for tonight’s game.

The Goods

  • Vince Carter went 0-for-13 from the field and finished with three points in New Jersey’s 101-79 home loss on Friday.
  • Carter is averaging 22.1 points this season, and 23.3 in 16 games versus Toronto.
  • Devin Harris is averaging a team-leading 24.1 points and 6.2 assists and had 14 versus the Raptors on Friday, but had 30 on 10-for-18 shooting in last month’s visit to Toronto.
  • The Raps are only 5-6 on their home court.
  • Chris Bosh is averaging a team-leading 24.4 points and had 42 on 14-of-27 shooting against New Jersey at home earlier this season.
  • The Raptors added some depth Sunday by signing veteran center Jake Voskuhl. He’s averaged 4.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 412 regular-season NBA games with Chicago, Phoenix, Charlotte and Milwaukee.

Prediction

The Raps should roll over the Nets as long as they play the same as they did on Friday and I predict a 102-90 win. The big question is will raging Raptors fans lose it when they can’t see the game because it is on TSN2???
